Job Summary
Role Summary
The QA Engineer executes test cases and validation activities under the direction of the Lead QA Engineer. This is a hands-on testing role focused on running test scripts during DR test windows capturing evidence logging defects and supporting both the Zerto and ASR workstreams across all wave-based onboarding and the formal DR test phases. The QA Engineer also supports operational procedure testing - monitoring alerts escalation workflows and ticketing integration validation - during Phase 4.
Key Responsibilities
Test Execution: Execute assigned test cases during DR test windows; verify VM startup OS boot application launch login flows and basic transaction tests in failed-over Azure VMs.
Evidence Capture: Capture screenshots logs command outputs RPO/RTO timestamps and other evidence required for the DR Test Report.
Documentation: Maintain test execution logs daily test status updates and regression test results. Reporting Support: Support the Lead QA Engineer in compiling the final DR Test Report including running summary statistics on pass/fail rates defect counts and SLA achievement.
Required Skills AND Experience
4 6 years of QA / testing experience including infrastructure or cloud testing exposure.
Hands-on test execution discipline: structured test case execution evidence capture defect lifecycle management.
Working familiarity with VMware vCenter Azure portal Windows and Linux command-line basics and common networking tools (ping tracert nslookup telnet).
Test management tool experience (Jira Azure DevOps TestRail); basic scripting (PowerShell or Bash) is a plus.
Test execution logs defect records evidence packages (screenshots logs output captures) daily test status
updates smoke test results per wave.
