Job Purpose

Responsible for procurement of raw materials consumables tooling and services for manufacturing industry ensuring timely availability cost control quality compliance and effective vendor coordination.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement & Vendor Communication

• Procure foundry and machining materials such as castings alloy steel pig iron ferro alloys scrap tools inserts coolants oils sand resins and chemicals.
• Communicate regularly with suppliers regarding quotations negotiations order status delivery schedules and discrepancies.
• Develop maintain and evaluate vendors based on quality cost delivery and service performance.
• Prepare and release Purchase Orders (POs) and follow up to ensure on time delivery.

Cost Control & Quality Coordination

• Support price negotiations and cost saving initiatives.
• Coordinate with Production Quality and Stores for material specifications and acceptance.
• Ensure materials comply with technical drawings specifications and quality standards.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of MS Excel (PO tracking vendor comparison inventory reports cost analysis).
• Excellent vendor communication and coordination skills (verbal and written).
• Understanding of foundry and camshaft machining materials and processes.
• Basic knowledge of ERP systems (SAP / Tally / Oracle or similar).
• Good negotiation follow up and documentation skills.

Educational Qualification

• Diploma / BE / Mechanical / Production Engineering or equivalent.

Experience Requirement

• 1 to 2 years experience in purchase/procurement within:
  • Preferred Foundry Industry
  • Automotive Components
  • Machining Industry
