Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Purchase Engineer to join our procurement team. The role involves supporting the procurement process sourcing materials and ensuring the timely acquisition of goods and services required for civil and construction projects. The Purchase Engineer will work closely with project quality inventory and finance teams to ensure materials meet specifications are procured within budget and are delivered on schedule.

Responsibilities
  • Sourcing & Supplier Management: Identify potential suppliers conduct market research and evaluate vendors based on quality pricing and reliability.
  • Purchase Orders: Prepare and process purchase orders for materials equipment and services ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
  • Price Negotiation: Negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive pricing while maintaining quality and delivery timelines.
  • Inventory Control: Monitor stock levels and coordinate with inventory teams to avoid stock-outs and overstock situations.
  • Vendor Performance: Evaluate vendor performance based on quality delivery and pricing and resolve issues promptly.
  • Contract Management: Review and manage supplier contracts terms and service agreements.
  • Quality Assurance: Coordinate with the quality team to ensure purchased materials meet required standards and specifications.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of purchase orders receipts invoices and other procurement documents.
  • Budget Compliance: Coordinate with the finance team to ensure purchases are within approved budgets and cost-control objectives.
  • Market Research: Stay updated on market conditions industry trends and new products to support informed purchasing decisions.
  • Compliance: Follow company policies industry regulations and ethical procurement practices.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential supply-chain risks including supply disruptions and price fluctuations.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management Business Administration Engineering or a related field. Relevant procurement certifications are an advantage.
  • Experience: Proven experience as a Purchase Engineer Purchase Executive or similar procurement role preferably within the civil and construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of procurement processes sourcing strategies and vendor management.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks meet deadlines and manage multiple requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and procurement or purchasing software; familiarity with ERP systems preferred.
  • Good coordination and teamwork skills.
