Profile:Production Head

Experience:

• 10-15 years in rubber processing including at least 3-5 years in a production leadership role.

Roles:

• Take complete ownership of plant-floor operations from machine erection and commissioning through validation trials and steady-state production.
• Manage production of rubber sheeting belting or comparable flat rubber products with focus on process consistency thickness control and quality.
• Handle rubber calendering and mixing including roll settings temperature control sheet thickness gauge consistency and batch repeatability.
• Operate and supervise internal mixer batch cycles including loading sequence mixing time dump temperature and discharge consistency.
• Execute rubber compounding as per approved recipes ensuring correct weighing dispersion and identification of compound-related defects.
• Understand and supervise lathe and machining operations supporting in-house grinding trimming tooling shaft and related work.
• Prepare daily weekly and monthly production plans based on order requirements and machine availability.
• Coordinate with Sales Dispatch and Packaging regarding order priority production commitments and dispatch readiness.
• Investigate internal rejections and customer complaints identify root causes and implement CAPA.
• Maintain FIFO for raw rubber chemicals and compounded stock while monitoring shelf life.
• Monitor material yield scrap rework and machine utilisation to reduce wastage.
• Develop and maintain plant SOPs for every process step and ensure operator adherence.
• Coordinate with Maintenance for preventive maintenance schedules breakdown priorities and critical spares.
• Maintain production data through Excel and ERP and independently prepare production rejection and consumption reports.
• Develop and implement technical training calendars for supervisors and operators.
• Analyse production and quality data to identify trends process drift and record inaccuracies.
• Apply Kaizen/Six Sigma methods to improve rejection cycle time and downtime.
• Supervise production teams across both shifts and ensure consistent performance and discipline.
• Manage shop-floor manpower and ensure optimum utilisation of resources.
• Ensure awareness and compliance with statutory safety and environmental requirements.
• Build a production culture and operating system that can function independently without daily promoter involvement.

Qualification:

• BE / in Mechanical Engineering Rubber Technology Polymer Engineering or Chemical Engineering.
• Engineering degree is mandatory; Diploma candidates are not to be considered
