The Process Optimization Team Lead - Advanced Process Control is responsible for leading a global team of process optimization specialists focused on delivering and sustaining advanced process control (APC) and soft sensor solutions across customer sites worldwide.

This role carries end-to-end accountability for ensuring that optimization systems continue to deliver measurable business value long after commissioning is completed. A key responsibility is the proactive monitoring review and continuous improvement of APC and optimization performance during the months following project handover ensuring customers achieve targeted process improvements operational stability and return on investment. Through ongoing performance management customer engagement and identification of optimization opportunities the role drives customer success service growth and long-term customer retention.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Service Management

• Lead and mentor a global team of APC and Process Optimization Engineers
• Establish performance objectives technical development plans and competency growth programs.
• Drive a culture of ownership continuous improvement and customer-centric service delivery.
• Conduct regular technical reviews knowledge-sharing sessions and case reviews.
• Ensure service delivery processes support proactive customer engagement and value realization throughout the optimization lifecycle.
• Consolidated Status reporting (quarterly) of proactive optimization PLA services on global sites of PXP applications to management teams (sales engineering development PLA Project Managers).
• Collaborate with Engineering teams to implement improvements in proactive optimization PLA service & support activities for PXP applications to ensure sustainable long-term benefits.

APC Lifecycle Support & Value Realization

• Ensure reliable operation and lifecycle support of commissioned APC systems.
• Own the post-commissioning performance management process ensuring APC systems continue to deliver expected business outcomes.
• Proactively monitor APC health controller performance model accuracy KPI achievement and optimization effectiveness.
• Establish structured APC performance reviews during the first months following commissioning to identify improvement opportunities and maximize customer value realization by quantifying ROI/monetary savings achieved with High-PXP utilization.
• Lead APC troubleshooting root cause analysis and performance recovery activities when deviations occur.
• Identify and implement continuous optimization opportunities that enhance process performance and customer benefits.
• Manage APC upgrades migrations and system modernization projects.

Soft Sensor Deployment & Maintenance

• Design implement and maintain soft sensor applications for critical process variables.
• Develop inferential models using process knowledge statistical methods and machine learning techniques.
• Validate and continuously improve soft sensor accuracy.
• Support integration of soft sensors with APC and plant control systems.
• Monitor model performance and ensure sustained business value.

Customer Success Retention & Proactive Service Growth

• Develop and execute structured customer success plans following APC commissioning.
• Conduct periodic performance reviews optimization assessments and value realization workshops with customers.
• Proactively identify performance gaps operational risks and optimization opportunities before they impact customer outcomes.
• Demonstrate measurable customer value through KPI improvements and documented business benefits.
• Build trusted customer relationships through regular engagement and proactive performance management.
• Drive service agreement renewals lifecycle support contracts and follow-on optimization opportunities.
• Support customer retention through continuous improvement initiatives and successful long-term service delivery.
• Collaborate with sales and service teams to identify and develop proactive service growth opportunities.

What you bring

Experience

• 10 years of experience in industrial process optimization and APC.
• 5 years of experience leading technical teams as a technical lead.
• Experience supporting lifecycle services and customer-facing operations.
• Proven experience in process industries Cement and mining.
• Knowledge in Machine Learning models AI and python programming skills will be an added advantage
• Knowledge in PLC programming OPC MQTT SQL and System level troubleshooting skills will be an added advantage

Education

• Bachelors or masters Degree in Instrumentation and Control Engineering
• Process control Engineering

• Data Science with APC skills (with process industry experience)
