Principal Engineer Safety-Critical Embedded Software

What Youll Do

As a Principal Engineer you will play a key role in the design development and validation of safety-critical avionics software for next-generation aerospace platforms.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Develop and validate complex safety-critical embedded software applications.

• Lead software development across the complete Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

• Analyze customer and system requirements translating them into high-level and low-level software requirements.

• Define software architecture design approaches and verification strategies.

• Develop and review software test plans test cases and validation procedures.

• Ensure compliance with aerospace certification standards and engineering best practices.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Systems Engineering Verification & Validation Certification and Program Management.

• Drive technical excellence while mentoring engineers and contributing to continuous process improvements.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering Computer Science Electronics or a related STEM discipline.

• 12 years of experience in embedded software development preferably within the aerospace or other safety-critical industries.

• 8 Years of Strong knowledge of aerospace software certification standards:

  • DO-178

  • ARP4754A

• 6 Years of Solid understanding of avionics communication protocols:

  • ARINC 429

  • AFDX

  • ARINC 653

  • ARINC 615A

• 8 Years of Strong expertise in software lifecycle processes requirements engineering and verification methodologies.

• 7 Years of Experience deriving software requirements from customer and system-level requirements.

• 8 Years of Proven experience defining software verification and validation strategies.

Preferred Qualifications

• 6 Years of Hands-on embedded software development experience using C.

• Programming experience in embedded systems and scripting languages.

• Knowledge of Flight Management Systems (FMS).

• Exposure to aerospace certification and regulatory compliance processes.

• Strong analytical communication and technical leadership skills.
