Principal Engineer Highways
Job Summary
Responsibilities:
- Provision of engineering expertise involving a range of multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects of varying scale complexity and value preferably in the Middle East (ME) region.
- Client management lead and attend design review and progress meetings.
- Demonstrated experience in the design of various categories of projects ranging from highways/expressways to major urban corridors and shared pathways. Design of Intersections and Interchanges.
- Strong knowledge and experience of highway design and modelling using ideally Civil 3D software together with integration into BIM.
- Good knowledge of interface disciplines such as drainage hydrology lighting structures. Ability to communicate and integrate with the relevant designers to find holistic solutions.
- Application of Highway designs guidelines of ME AASHTO DMRB and contribute to the development of internal standards.
- Developing and delivering design solutions including applications for Departures and Relaxations from Standards etc and ensuring all requisite approvals and consents are secured for projects.
- Proficiency in preparation of comprehensive design reports drawings and specifications. Collaborate with drafting and documentation teams to create accurate and detailed technical documentation.
- Responsible for technical checking and design reviews complying to QA/QC procedures.
- Mentoring/Guiding of junior Engineers.
- Extraction of quantity take-off from the software and support to BOQ.
- Should work closely with project managers and other engineering disciplines to ensure seamless integration of designs within larger project scopes. Provide technical support during construction and address any design-related challenges that may arise.
Qualifications :
Skills Required:
- Bachelors/Masters Degree in Civil Engineering (or related field) from a recognised institution.
- Experience of 10-12 years in Highway Design.
- Proven experience in design for highway/expressway projects in Middle East/USA/UK regions.
- Proficiency in related engineering software such as Civil 3D MX Road Infraworks BIM Open Roads etc along with AutoCAD.
- Experience in working on CDE environment (ACC ProjectWise) is advantage.
- Thorough understanding of International standards regulations and safety protocols.
- Good written and oral communication skills are essential.
