Job Summary

As a Principal Test Engineer you will be responsible to apply a broad level of expertise and knowledge in test discipline leading and contributing to the development of the company objectives and principles to achieve goals in creative and effective ways. You will need to provide leadership and training.  You will own the schedule and work on issues that impact program success and future concepts and products. You will need to work with limited information and full ability to make clear judgements.  Long term view is required to align with strategics goals and objectives as results may impact multiple functions. You will need to network with key decision makers to determine future direction.  You are recognized as an expert by leadership and teams.  You can provide technical leading both internal and with external community and vendors. You may serve as an organization spokesperson. Maintain stable work relationships for exchanging information with colleagues and leadership to collaboratively solve problems.  You will need to coordinate with different groups and maintain stable work relationships for exchanging information with colleagues and leadership 

This role is a key technical position combining deep hands-on expertise with strategic influence across product development and production. As a senior individual contributor the selected candidate will define and lead test methodologies guide complex technical decisions and act as a reference point for the broader engineering team. 

Renesas Electronics a leading global semiconductor company is rapidly scaling investing in power delivery business. Products include Point of loads (POL) Hotswap/Efuse Drivers. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Leadend-to-end test strategy definitionfor new product development ensuring scalability quality and cost efficiency 

  • Define and drive adoption ofbest-in-class test methodologiestest plan development DFT approaches and ATE hardware design 

  • Act astechnical leader and mentorfor test engineers supporting capability growth across the team 

  • Ensurerobust production release including high coverage test time optimization and manufacturability 

  • Leadroot cause analysis and yield improvement initiatives applying advanced statistical and data-driven techniques 

  • Collaborate cross-functionally withDesign Product Engineering Operations and Quality teamsworldwide 

  • Provide technical leadership incustomer interactions escalations and quality investigations 

  • Influencetest roadmap and long-term strategy aligning with business and product requirements 

  • Supportcost reduction initiativesthrough test optimization and efficiency improvements 


Qualifications :

  • Bachelors degree in electrical/computer engineering (masters preferred) 
  • Typically 12 years of experience in test engineering for analog/mixed-signal or power management ICs 

  • Extensive expertise in ATE test development (COHU DMDX DXV Accotest) 

  • Strong knowledge of DFT techniques test coverage analysis and production flows 

  • Proven experience in complex product bring-up debug and production ramp 

  • Advanced skills in data analysis statistical methods and yield optimization 

  • Strong programming skills C/C python or similar is a plus 

  • Deep understanding of ATE instrumentation signal integrity and hardware design constraints 

  • Experience in debugging analog and mixed-signal systems including serial interfaces
