Job Summary
We are hiring an Ops & Strategy resource to work directly with the founder as a COOsoffice-style partner while owning a defined operating mandate end-to-end. You will own the operating system that turns clients risk intelligence and benefit delivery into reliable measurable outcomes across programs starting with Shiprocket as the anchor program and scale that operating model across the rest of our partner programs.
This is a high-leverage role for someone with a builders instinct and an operators discipline: comfortable getting into the data the SOPs the dashboards and the daily exceptions and equally comfortable zooming up to set strategy and design the next operating playbook.
What Success Looks Like (6-12 months)
Risk and pricing models are deployed decisioned and monitored reliably across programs with a monthly review ritual that leadership trusts.
Benefit and VAS delivery is observable measurable and improving with clear SLAs exception loops and a path to fix the next class of issues.
The Shiprocket operating playbook is documented and replicable; at least one additional program is running on the same operating system.
A predictable cadence exists across enrollment FinOps escalations and governance leaving the founder to spend less time firefighting and more time on strategic bets.
Key Responsibilities Mandate
1: GTM
Take closed partners live on the clients platform.
Work with Business to handle onboarding and Finance and operations to handle processes SOPs etc
Partner with product and engineering to ensure the tech infra is in place and the integration is completed
Partner with Data Science and Engineering to keep the scoring decisioning and monitoring loops tight.
Run merchant-level deep-dives on persistent loss makers and translate findings into product/ops actions.
Mandate 2: Optimize VAS and benefit delivery
Own the operating layer that delivers value-added services and protection benefits across programs.
Build a VAS delivery scorecard (volume SLA failure reasons) and a weekly exception triage with Product Support and Ops.
Maintain source-of-truth mappings between clients programs/plans and vendor entities including lifecycle gating (cancelled claimed expired plans).
Drive online-to-offline service quality with Support: SLA adherence root-cause closure and partner accountability. Operating cadence and governance
Own the operating cadence across enrollment onboarding FinOps cycles (proforma invoicing reconciliation refunds) and escalation matrices (L1/L2/L3). Maintain a reusable program launch and governance checklist; apply it across new and existing programs.
Keep documentation in Notion crisp current and used by the wider team.
Founder partnership and strategy
Serve as a thinking partner to the founder on operating decisions new program launches and cross-functional bets.
Drive ad-hoc strategic initiatives end-to-end diligence planning execution reporting.
Be a reliable point of contact for the team to bring operating problems and get fast clear unblocks.
Required Qualifications
5-8 years of experience in roles that combine operations strategy and execution consulting founders office COOs office BizOps or operating roles in fast-moving startups.
Comfort working across data product operations finance and support with high context-switching.
Strong analytical chops: comfortable in spreadsheets with SQL and with reading model outputs and dashboards.
High-ownership operator who has shipped operational improvements that moved real metrics.
Excellent written and verbal communication; rigorous documentation habit. Skills and Competencies
Structured problem solving and first-principles thinking.
Operating discipline: cadences dashboards exception loops and follow-through.
Strong cross-functional stakeholder management.
Comfort with ambiguity and with building the operating playbook as you run it. Customer and partner empathy paired with a sharp commercial mindset.
Nice to Have
Background in insurance fintech embedded finance or platform businesses.
Exposure to risk models claims operations or unit economics in financial services.
Familiarity with Notion ClickUp Metabase/BI tools.
