Operations Manager
Job Summary
The Operations Manager is responsible for optimizing resource planning utilization and operational delivery across consulting implementation managed services and product development engagements. This role serves as the primary link between sales forecasts project delivery and workforce planning by ensuring the right resources are available to meet current and future client demands.
Role and Responsibilities
- Manage resource allocation across internal initiatives and client projects using the organizations resource management tools.
- Balance forecasted project demand with available resource capacity to ensure optimal staffing and utilization.
- Monitor current and future resource utilization including billable and non-billable hours and provide regular utilization reports to leadership.
- Collaborate with leadership to evaluate resource requirements project timelines and staffing strategies for upcoming client engagements.
- Maintain up-to-date resource skills and experience matrix to support effective project staffing.
- Partner with project managers to assign resources based on technical skills experience availability and career development objectives.
- Develop workforce forecasts and compare project pipeline demand against available capacity to identify resource gaps and hiring needs.
- Work closely with the Human Resources and Recruiting teams to identify staffing requirements coordinate hiring activities and build a qualified pipeline of employees and contractors.
- Support onboarding activities by coordinating project-specific training and ensuring resources are prepared for client engagements.
- Ensure timely submission of timesheets and accurate billing information to support project financials and revenue recognition.
- Understand and support the organizations service offerings including Consulting System Implementations Managed Services and Product Development.
- Support proposal development resource planning and contract preparation by providing staffing estimates and resource availability.
- Drive continuous process improvements in resource planning operational reporting and utilization management.
Qualifications :
Bachelors degree in Business Administration Information Technology Life Sciences Finance HR or a related discipline.
- 5 years of experience in consulting resource management project operations or PMO.
- Experience in system implementation or consulting projects preferably within the Life Sciences or Pharmacovigilance industry.
- Experience supporting process improvement data migration or enterprise implementation projects.
- Strong understanding of resource planning capacity management utilization forecasting and workforce planning.
- Experience working with resource management and project management tools.
- Experience collaborating with Finance Human Resources Recruiting and Delivery teams.
- Finance or project financial management experience is highly preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience as a Pharmacovigilance (PV) Consultant or Operations Consultant.
- Experience with consulting services organizations or software implementation firms.
- Knowledge of project financials revenue forecasting and utilization reporting.
- Experience supporting global delivery teams and distributed resource models.
