Roles and Responsibilities

1. Leadership & Team Management

• Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the engineering department.
• Recruit develop and coach engineering talent.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineers and project teams.
• Mentor and support less experienced engineers and project team members.
• Develop team capability and support organisational growth.

2. Engineering & Technical Leadership

• Lead the design integration and testing of AC Control Automation Systems and LV Secondary Engineering.
• Drive consistent design practices and common global engineering processes.
• Develop technical solutions aligned with project and tender requirements.
• Ensure engineering outputs meet required standards and specifications.
• Support technical analysis and evaluation of engineering solutions.
• Ensure effective use of technologies and components in system design.

3. Project Delivery

• Manage engineering resources workload and schedules.
• Define Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) resource plans and skill requirements.
• Ensure delivery in line with safety quality cost and schedule targets.
• Monitor project milestones and engineering deliverables.
• Identify and manage technical and organisational risks.

4. Process & Continuous Improvement

• Drive improvements in engineering processes and tools.
• Promote standardisation and best practices.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Implement lessons learned across projects.

Required Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent including power systems and power electronics subjects or proven equivalent knowledge and experience in HVDC business
• Experience of Leading team of LV Secondary and AC Control Automation System.
• Strong sense of urgency and ability to identify and manage team organisational risks.
• Proven skills in managing and leading team with strong technical background
• Strong written and verbal communication skills experienced in creating and presenting to other stake holders.
• Knowledge of Control and Protection cubicle Circuit Diagram field cabling protection relays HV/MV/LV switchgear IEDs and Distributed control system.
• Able to work to deadlines under pressure whilst maintaining the safety quality and engineering integrity of the solution.
• Proven technical leadership in a complex system engineering development environment.
• Must be flexible with working hours and willing to travel globally.
