IT/OT Engineer (EMEA Delivery)

Department / Cost Center: Delivery / COGS: Solutions Engineering

EMEA job level: SCADA/Network Engineer

Location / work type: Bangalore India

Task

  • Drive the integration of Fluence BESS control system into Transmission System Operator (TSO) SCADA systems: Network configuration communication interfaces cybersecurity requirements support in the equipment integration monitoring signals configuration to meet TSO / Customer requirements.
  • Develop and maintain the Core documentation of existing monitoring/equipment infrastructure including hardware signal lists diagrams communication links and system backup and recovery strategies.
  • Work with field engineers to find solutions to problems as they arise during commissioning/testing of a system in all Network/SCADA/equipment related subjects.
  • Work in the FAT testing for our Network/SCADA racks. Provide inputs on the system FAT process: development and execution of testing procedures for the equipment validation.
  • Execute tests (FAT / SAT) to reduce commissioning time and perform testing including involvement in hands on lab testing during evaluations of prototype systems.
  • Drive interface to Clients and sub-contractors to support SCADA/Network compliance and drive concept during Project Execution phase.
  • Keep current with all Company products developments and projects as they apply to the SCADA network at both site and enterprise levels.
  • Maintain strict management of change control procedures and documentation.
  • Remain current on industry best practices and updated technology to ensure the company is provided world-class SCADA services.
  • Support company strategy and provide relevant reporting and updates to Company leadership as needed.
  • Develop and recommend performance management and feedback to current SCADA technical support KPIs.
  • Executing tasks related to Fluence safety KPIs
  • Travel throughout EMEA If required.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor / master in computer engineering automation information technology computer science (or equivalent)
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant OT / SCADA / Networking experience with a power utility or related industry and the design operation and maintenance of a power plant.
  • Knowledge about SCADA protocols such as: IEC/103/104 IEC 61850 MMS DNP3 Modbus & TCP/IP PLC Remote Terminal Units (RTUs) SEL Real Time Automation Controller (RTAC) SEL Relays & Meters Siemens Relays & Meters & SCADA Gateways & Data Concentrators
  • Awareness of OSI layer models and deployment of network configurations.
  • Basic knowledge in remote access VPN site-to-site VPN Routers Firewalls Switches (Cisco industrial equipment) SD-WAN
  • Experience with Managed Ethernet Switches Media Converters (Fiber & Serial)
  • Experience in Linux based systems and commandsHigh-level programming languages such as Python and shell/bash scriptingas well aswith Github.
  • Basic knowledge of industrial communication standards including OPC UA DA HDA REST and common data storage techniques. Experience working with SCADA hardware to act as the software platform for SCADA systems
  • Knowledge about inverters transformers I/O racks telecommunications and controllers
