Job Summary
Roles & Responsibilities:
In charge of the PAN India operational and site management aspects of environmental health safety and sustainability/ESG strategies of BGSW. Also accountable for executing Bosch Group HSE and Sustainability Vision and EHS policy in operations promptly reporting any deviations to management. Ensure comprehensive evaluation of all risks related to safety health environment chemicals emergencies etc. and implement necessary controls for mitigation. Maintain zero tolerance for breaches in legal compliance and incidents. maintaining compliance with ISO standards 14001 and 45000 is essential as a part of Integrated Management System. Managing critical stakeholders across functions including Engineering R&D Labs Purchase Logistics HR Medical and external agencies vendors and clients. The key responsibility is to apply critical and design thinking to effectively navigate complex situations while collaborating with teams within and outside BGSW to meet HSE and Sustainability requirements.
Statutory compliance (Shops & Establishments environmental laws fire & safety norms)
Risk management & hazard identification (e.g. AI HIRA MOC HAZOP JSA)
Incident investigation & root cause analysis
Fire safety engineering & life safety systems
Environmental management (waste emissions water ESG)
Contractor safety & multi-site governance
Audit systems & regulatory liaison
o Integrated approach across ISO 14001 / 45001 / 50001
o Oversee trainings on EHS topic to the associates
o Plan and conduct IMS internal audits
o Governance and coordinate for emergency mock drills
o Management Representation for BGSW IMS certification
o Drive Energy Water conservation and waste management at respective locations
Lab safety audit not limited to R&D work High Voltage labs ECU Lab for safety start rating
Adhere to HSE and ESG vision of Bosch and Bosch Sustainability/EHS policy EMS & OHSMS
Review and report - Compliance and Risk Management (Internal Process and External Audit)
Stakeholder Engagement and Communications (Collaboration both internal and external stakeholders CFTs Change management and awareness communications)
Tak up new initiatives in the areas of HSE and Sustainability
o Team engagement during events/special days and department administration work
o Business and strategic responsibility:
Define and drive EHS & Sustainability strategy aligned with business objectives and growth plans
Establish annual EHS roadmap KPIs and targets (safety compliance ESG performance)
Ensure 100% statutory compliance across all sites with zero legal exposure
Deliver Zero Harm culture through leadership commitment and behavioral safety programs
Integrate EHS into business decision-making (projects expansions new facilities)
Drive cost optimization through risk reduction energy efficiency and resource management
Present EHS performance dashboards and risk insights to senior leadership
Develop and lead initiatives aimed at achieving national and international awards for excellence in safety and sustainability.
Interfaces and influencing - Modern Action-Oriented & Crisp:
Act as single point of leadership for all EHS matters across internal and external stakeholders
Influence senior leaders to embed EHS as a core business value not compliance activity
Collaborate with:
Engineering R&D HR Procurement Logistics Facility teams
External agencies auditors regulatory authorities clients
Lead cross-functional governance forums (EHS councils safety committees)
Manage vendor and contractor EHS performance ensuring alignment with company standards
Drive employee engagement and awareness programs to strengthen safety culture
Represent organization during client audits regulatory inspections and certifications
Effectively manage challenging stakeholders across functions by applying influence negotiation and conflict resolution skills
Balance business priorities with EHS requirements while maintaining compliance and risk integrity
Demonstrate assertive yet collaborative leadership in situations of resistance ambiguity or competing priorities
Navigate complex organizational dynamics to ensure timely decision-making and accountability
Build trust and credibility through fact-based communication transparency and consistent follow-through
Address non-compliance or behavioral gaps with a structured escalation and resolution approach
Enable alignment across cross-functional teams to embed EHS and Sustainability as shared organizational goals
Coach and mentor teams and peers to handle difficult situations with professionalism and solution-oriented mindset
Sustain stakeholder engagement during audits crisis situations or high-pressure deliverables
o Process and Technology:
Establish and continuously improve Integrated Management System (IMS EHS/EnMS)
Standardize and deploy process frameworks for:
Risk assessment (HIRA/JSA/HAZOP)
Incident reporting & root cause analysis
Audit and compliance tracking
Digitize EHS through:
Compliance tools dashboards and tracking systems
Data-driven decision-making and predictive risk analytics
Ensure effective emergency preparedness & response systems
Implement engineering controls and technology solutions to eliminate hazards
Drive process standardization across multi-site operations and ensure consistency
o ISO and Sustainability:
o Lead implementation and sustenance of:
1. ISO 14001 (Environmental)
2. ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety)
3. ISO 50001 (Energy Management)
o Ensure audit readiness at all times (internal & external audits)
o Drive closure of non-conformities CAPA effectiveness and continual improvement
o Establish robust EHS audit program and management review mechanisms for all the areas not limited to Technical critical BCP utilities like HVAC UPS DG Server & Data room soft service Landscape Electrical safety etc.
o Integrate Sustainability & ESG initiatives into business operations:
o Energy efficiency water conservation waste management
o Carbon footprint reduction initiatives
o Ensure compliance with legal statutory and corporate sustainability requirements
o Special assignments:
o Lead critical incident investigations and crisis management response
o Drive enterprise-wide transformation initiatives (e.g. digital EHS ESG programs)
o Support new site setup expansion projects and infrastructure design reviews
o Handle high-risk audits escalations and regulatory interventions
o Lead global/regional EHS harmonization projects
o Develop and mentor future EHS leadership pipeline
o Deliver strategic initiatives assigned by top management (e.g. sustainability commitments net-zero roadmap)
o Budget monitoring of HSE area
o Sharing updates on new statutory requirements.
Qualifications :
Educational qualification:
BE/B-TECH/ME/M-TECH (preferred streams - Energy Environmental Electrical Mechanical Industrial safety Industrial engineering Sustainability)
Diploma / PG Diploma in Industrial Safety - NEBOSH or equivalent
Experience:
16 years

Diploma / PG Diploma in Industrial Safety - NEBOSH or equivalent
Lead Auditor Certifications (IRCA/CQI certified) - IS0 14001 & 45001
