Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
Flight Dynamics Capability
  • Define and implement the flight-dynamics architecture covering orbit determination orbit propagation state estimation manoeuvre design and post-manoeuvre assessment.
  • Use validated observations fused tracks onboard telemetry and external catalogue inputs for orbit determination and propagation for observation ingestion calibration association and track formation.
  • Develop and maintain models for force perturbations covariance propagation atmospheric drag solar radiation pressure attitude effects and manoeuvre execution uncertainty.
  • Define accuracy latency availability data-quality and validation requirements for operational flight-dynamics products.
Conjunction Assessment & Collision Avoidance
  • Lead screening close-approach analysis probability-of-collision assessment and risk prioritisation for mission assets and relevant space objects.
  • Design manoeuvre planning workflows that evaluate fuel mission objectives operational constraints payload impacts and recovery requirements.
  • Define decision thresholds escalation paths human-in-the-loop approvals and command-release controls for collision avoidance.
  • Coordinate with external SSA providers operators government catalogues and partner organisations during high-risk events.
Automation Tools & Assurance
  • Operationalise flight-dynamics software algorithms APIs visualisation and analyst tools within the Mission Control Centre and SSA platform.
  • Use simulation digital twins and historical replay to validate algorithms and decision workflows.
  • Establish independent verification regression testing configuration management and audit trails for safety-critical computations.
Technical Leadership
  • Lead flight-dynamics engineers and work closely with the spacecraft-operations control-centre and SSA leads.
  • Own flight-dynamics procedures training material operational handbooks and readiness evidence.
  • Contribute to customer proposals mission design studies architecture reviews and technical demonstrations.
Desirable Skills & Experience
  • 12-18 years in flight dynamics astrodynamics satellite operations orbit determination conjunction assessment or related space missions.
  • Deep expertise in orbital mechanics numerical propagation state estimation covariance analysis manoeuvre design and collision avoidance.
  • Strong programming and data-analysis skills including scientific computing and automation.
  • Understanding of space-object catalogues sensor observations time systems coordinate frames and uncertainty management.
  • Experience integrating flight dynamics with mission-control telemetry command and SSA systems.
  • Bachelors or advanced degree in Aerospace Engineering Astrodynamics Physics Applied Mathematics or a related discipline.
