Role Overview:
CGI is seeking a highly experienced Utilities Subject Matter Expert (SME) to serve as the strategic domain expert for the Utilities Sub Business Unit. The role will provide business and industry leadership across consulting business development solution design and delivery initiatives enabling CGI to strengthen its Utilities practice and deliver business value to clients.
The role requires deep expertise in utility business processes operating models industry trends regulatory frameworks and digital transformation initiatives across the electricity gas water and emerging energy sectors. The Utilities SME will collaborate with business consulting technology and delivery teams to shape industry specific solutions support strategic pursuits and drive innovation across the Utilities portfolio.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities:
1. Industry Leadership & Advisory
. Serve as the primary domain expert for the Utilities Sub Business Unit providing strategic guidance across consulting solutioning and delivery engagements.
. Advise internal stakeholders and clients on utility industry business processes operating models market trends and best practices.
. Provide thought leadership on industry developments regulatory changes sustainability initiatives and digital transformation within the utilities sector.
. Represent CGI in client engagements executive workshops industry forums and strategic discussions.
2. Business Development & Solutioning
. Support business development by contributing to opportunity qualification proposals RFP responses client presentations and solution development.
. Collaborate with prime BU teams to develop differentiated Utilities offerings and industry specific accelerators.
. Provide domain expertise during strategic pursuits to ensure business solutions align with client objectives and industry standards.
. Contribute to the development of go to market strategies for Utilities services and solutions.
3. Consulting & Delivery Enablement
. Provide business advisory support for transformation programs across utility organizations.
. Guide solution design for key utility capabilities including: Customer Operations Meter to Cash Customer Information Systems (CIS) Asset Management Field Services Smart Metering (AMI) Grid Modernization Outage Management Distribution Management Renewable Energy and Distributed Energy Resources (DER)
. Collaborate with delivery teams to ensure proposed solutions align with industry best practices and business objectives.
. Support capability development through mentoring knowledge sharing and domain enablement across consulting and delivery teams.
4. Innovation & Practice Development
. Identify emerging business and technology trends influencing the Utilities industry.
. Contribute to the development of reusable assets industry frameworks thought leadership and best practices.
. Support CGIs Utilities practice growth through innovation capability building and strategic initiatives.
. Promote adoption of emerging technologies including Artificial Intelligence (AI) Cloud Internet of Things (IoT) Advanced Analytics Automation and Digital Platforms within utility business solutions.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
Required Experience:
. 1520 years of experience in the Utilities industry with strong functional and business domain expertise.
. Demonstrated experience in consulting business transformation solutioning or advisory roles within utility organizations or technology consulting firms.
. Extensive knowledge of utility business processes across generation transmission distribution retail customer operations asset management and field services.
. Experience supporting enterprise transformation initiatives and technology enabled business change within utility organizations.
. Proven experience supporting pre sales activities strategic pursuits proposals and executive client engagements.
. Strong understanding of utility industry regulations operating models and emerging market trends.
. Experience collaborating with cross functional business and technology teams in large scale transformation programs.
Qualifications
. Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering Information Technology Business Administration or a related discipline.
. Relevant industry certifications or utility domain certifications are desirable.
. Consulting certifications or cloud platform certifications are an added advantage.
