Engineering Manager Chiller Product Development
Job Summary

You will lead a team working at the intersection of mechanical design validation and production readiness contributing to product improvements and new product introduction in a fast-moving engineering environment.
As Engineering Manager: Chiller Product Development you will lead mechanical and design engineering activities for industrial refrigeration and chiller products. You will own key parts of the product development lifecycle guide technical decisions and partner closely with cross-functional teams to bring robust cost-effective and compliant solutions to market.
- Lead and develop a team of mechanical and design engineers supporting chiller product development.
- Own the end-to-end development process from concept design prototyping and testing through production release.
- Prepare and review 3D models engineering drawings fabrication drawings BOMs and supporting technical documentation.
- Generate and review pressure vessel and heat exchanger drawings and specifications to meet order and product requirements.
- Collaborate with manufacturing quality supply chain procurement marketing and customer-facing teams to align engineering output with business needs.
- Drive product improvements that enhance performance cost-effectiveness reliability and manufacturability.
- Support validation activities design reviews and engineering changes for new and existing products.
- Evaluate technologies materials and design approaches that strengthen product competitiveness.
- Support field and service teams with technical expertise and issue resolution when needed.
- Mentor team members and build engineering capability through coaching review and feedback.
- You will take ownership of outcomes with accountability safety and integrity ensuring engineering decisions are practical traceable and aligned to quality expectations.
- You will stay close to the work by engaging with design manufacturing and service teams early so issues are identified and removed before they affect customers.
- You will use structured product development methods such as stage-gate thinking DFMEA and DVP&R to keep programs disciplined and well controlled.
- You will encourage clear feedback root-cause problem solving and continuous improvement across product design testing and release activities.
- You will win as one team by collaborating across functions building trust with stakeholders and valuing diverse technical perspectives.
- You will keep documentation current and precise including drawings specifications change records and engineering deliverables.
- You will balance technical depth with practical execution ensuring designs are ready for production and supportable in the field.
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 10 years of experience in industrial refrigeration or chiller product design and development.
- At least 3 years of experience in a leadership or managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of thermodynamics heat transfer and refrigeration cycles.
- Proficiency in CAD tools such as AutoCAD and Creo.
- Experience with product development processes including DFMEA DVP&R and stage-gate methodologies.
- Experience creating and reviewing engineering drawings BOMs and technical documentation.
- Excellent communication project management and team leadership skills.
- Experience with ASHRAE ISO PED ASME or API requirements in product development or compliance work.
- Exposure to pressure vessel and heat exchanger design for industrial refrigeration applications.
- Experience supporting manufacturing procurement or field issue resolution in a product development environment.
- Familiarity with continuous improvement practices in an engineering or manufacturing setting.
