Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Highway Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department you will lead the design and development of complex highway projects ensuring the highest standards of safety efficiency and sustainability.

  • Develop and oversee comprehensive highway design plans including alignment grading drainage and traffic control systems
  • Utilize advanced highway design software to create detailed 3D models and construction drawings
  • Conduct thorough analysis of traffic patterns environmental impacts and safety considerations to optimize design solutions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including environmental specialists geotechnical engineers and construction managers
  • Ensure compliance with local state and national highway design standards and regulations
  • Manage project timelines budgets and resources to deliver high-quality designs on schedule
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to the design team
  • Prepare and present technical reports design proposals and project updates to clients and stakeholders
  • Stay updated on industry trends emerging technologies and best practices in highway design and engineering

Qualifications :

  • Bachelors degree in civil engineering required; Masters degree preferred
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license
  • 7 - 9 years experience in highway design and engineering with a proven track record of successful large-scale infrastructure projects
  • Advanced proficiency in highway design software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D and MicroStation
  • Strong knowledge of traffic analysis software and techniques
  • In-depth understanding of highway design principles construction methods and materials
  • Familiarity with environmental impact assessments and mitigation strategies
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail
  • Strong project management abilities including resource allocation and budget control
  • Effective communication skills both written and verbal for collaborating with team members and presenting to clients
  • Experience with local and national highway design standards and regulations
  • Relevant certifications in highway design or transportation engineering are a plus
