Job Responsibilities:

* Design and develop electrical mechanical control internal or component aspects of various transformer types (power distribution special purpose).
* Conduct detailed engineering calculations simulations and analyses (e.g. thermal mechanical stress electromagnetic) to validate designs.
* Prepare and review technical specifications drawings and other design documentation.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing testing and sales to ensure design feasibility manufacturability and cost-effectiveness.
* Perform root cause analysis for design-related issues and implement corrective actions.
* Stay updated with industry standards regulations and emerging technologies in transformer design.
* Support prototype development testing and validation activities.
* Contribute to intellectual property development and patent applications as applicable.
* Identify and implement design improvements for performance efficiency and reliability.

Job Qualifications:

* Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
* Proven experience in the design and development of transformers or related heavy electrical equipment.
* Strong understanding of transformer principles including electromagnetic theory thermal management insulation systems and mechanical integrity.
* Proficiency in CAD software (e.g. AutoCAD SolidWorks Inventor) and simulation tools (e.g. ANSYS COMSOL).
* Knowledge of relevant industry standards (e.g. IEC ANSI/IEEE).
* Excellent analytical problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Experience with material selection for high-voltage applications is a plus.
* Familiarity with manufacturing processes relevant to transformer production is desirable.
