Design Coordinator – Solar PMC
Job Summary
The Design Coordinator will lead the engineering review and technical quality assurance process for a massive GW solar PV and integrated Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project. This role bridges the gap between the PMCs global engineering specialists the EPC contractors design teams and on-site construction managers to ensure error-free timely design approvals that prevent field modifications.
- Minimum of 7 - 10 years of progressive engineering and design coordination experience within the utility-scale solar or power infrastructure sector. Minimum 4 years of direct design review experience working for a PMC or Owners Engineer handling large-scale solar fields (250MW blocks). Direct experience with mega-scale solar park designs in India is highly advantageous.
- Control design interface coordination and IFC readiness required for orderly Solar construction and testing.
- Coordinates engineering workflow and interfaces; discipline designers/EPC prepare calculations and drawings and field engineers inspect installed work.
Core Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintain status of layouts SLDs MMS/tracker drawings string plans cable schedules earthing/lightning roads/drainage SCADA/control and MV interface deliverables for review by the Solar Electrical Engineer and commissioning team.
- Coordinate consolidated review comments RFIs/TQs technical clarifications and design-interface actions.
- Check IFC availability and approved revision use before construction release of work fronts.
- Track design changes site modifications and associated as-built requirements under change-control procedures.
- Coordinate design inputs required for commissioning dossiers punch resolution and HOTO documentation.
- Deep understanding of Indian Standards (IS) IEC standards for solar components CEA regulations and local state grid codes.
- Escalate design constraints affecting construction sequencing or safety/compliance.
Principal Client-Facing Outputs
- Solar engineering deliverable register and IFC status.
- RFI/TQ/design-interface tracker.
- Change/as-built coordination status report.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Civil/ Structural Engineering or Renewable Energy Technology.
- Strong familiarity with structural design analysis software (e.g. STAAD. Pro) and electrical simulation tools (e.g. ETAP) is highly preferred
