Data / Visualization BI Engineer (GCPPower BI/Data Visualization)
This role will design build and maintain data models datasets dashboards and reporting solutions that support supply chain decision-making. The ideal candidate combines strong SQL BigQuery Power BI and data modeling skills with the ability to translate operational business questions into clear scalable analytical outputs.
Key Responsibilities
Lead scoping and discovery discussions with business stakeholders to translate supply chain and retail business problems into well-defined analytical and data requirements.
Partner closely with product engineering and business teams to align analytical solutions with operational priorities.
Design develop and maintain scalable data models and datasets that convert raw data into actionable insights for decision-making.
Collaborate with data platform and cloud engineering teams to identify ingest and optimize data assets in a cloud-first environment (Google Cloud Platform).
Develop and maintain business intelligence solutions using Power BI including data modeling DAX calculations and Power Query (M).
Engineer and optimize data pipelines and transformations using SQL Python and related technologies to support analytics and reporting use cases.
Create impactful visualizations dashboards reports and KPI scorecards that enable leaders and business users to make data-driven decisions.
Write optimize and debug complex SQL queries and stored procedures in Teradata and BigQuery ensuring performance and data accuracy.
Work with cross-functional partners to validate reporting definitions ensure data consistency and align reporting outputs with true business needs.
Apply strong data warehousing concepts (facts dimensions star/snowflake schemas) to support scalable analytics and BI solutions.
Effectively communicate insights assumptions and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Gather refine and document requirements from business users translating them into analytical and technical specifications.
Operate within an Agile delivery model contributing to sprint planning reviews and continuous improvement.
Domain expertise in Retail and Supply Chain to contextualize data metrics and analytical outcomes.
Key Skills & Qualifications
Advanced proficiency in SQL.
Strong experience with Power BI including DAX M queries and dashboard design.
Hands-on expertise with GCP (BigQuery) and Teradata.
Solid understanding of data warehousing and BI architecture.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Hands-on experience in Python development particularly in data processing validation and analytics use cases.
