The Role
The Financial Reporting Specialist will be responsible for obtaining report requirements and preparing and delivering insightful financial Advertising reports for Hearst Newspapers at the Corporate level and the local market level. The position will also need to understand and modify existing reports as requested by the business users. Excellent communication skills are a must for the position because of the need to directly interact with business users to gather requirements and work with the users to validate and ensure the accuracy of the reports.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Create/modify Cognos and SSRS reports as requested by the business users.
- Schedule queries to run automatically and set up to email reports to recipients.
- Modify the Cognos framework on an infrequent basis.
- Develop Informer queries to report on data from Naviga Ad.
- Explore and recommend other reporting tools that can replace Cognos.
- Prepares and presents written and oral presentations.
- Keeps management apprised of project status.
- Other duties as assigned.
Mandatory skills:
- Cognos 11 and SSRS with 5 to 6 yrs of relevant experience
- Experience in Informer queries
- Individual Contributor
- Excellent and Effective communication and presentation skills
- Client Interaction for requirement elicitation experience is must
Desired skills:
PowerBI Reporting Database understanding (SQL Server Oracle UniData) Best practices for creating reports

- Skills using Informer and other reporting tools a plus.
- Understanding of databases (SQL Server Oracle and UniData) is desired.
- Knowledgeable of best practices for the creation of reports.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Business Information Technology or other related field.
- IBM Cognos Designer Certification a plus.
- 4 years experience developing Cognos framework packages and Cognos queries.

Key Responsibilities Lead the design and implementation of Salesforce solutions aligned with business objectives. Define and design a comprehensive Salesforce data model to support alumni marketing and engagement data. Establish lifecycle stages relationship structures and data hierarchies. Design and govern data migration architecture including mapping transformation and validation strategies. Define and enforce data governance quality and deduplication rules. Conduct solution workshops to gather requirements and translate them into scalable system designs. Provide architectural guidance and oversight to configuration development and migration teams. Ensure the platform supports reporting segmentation and operational efficiency. Collaborate with stakeholders to continuously improve system usability and performance. Required Skills & Experience Strong experience in Salesforce architecture and solution design. Expertise in CRM data modeling and data structures. Proven experience in designing and executing data migration frameworks. Solid understanding of data governance data quality and deduplication strategies. Ability to translate business workflows into scalable system architecture. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Salesforce certifications (e.g. Application/System Architect Data Architecture). Experience working with large-scale CRM transformations or migrations.
