Cloud Engineer

Job Introduction:

The Cloud Engineer is responsible for designing implementing and managing secure scalable and cost-effective cloud solutions primarily within Microsoft Azure. The role partners with business and technical stakeholders to translate requirements into effective cloud design deploy and monitor infrastructure optimize resource consumption through FinOps practices and maintain compliance with organizational security standards. The position also collaborates with global teams to provide operational support implement CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions and remain current with evolving cloud technologies and industry best practices. This role is instrumental in leveraging cloud capabilities to deliver measurable business value and enable the organizations digital transformation objectives.

Major Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with engineering and development teams to assess requirements and determine optimal cloud solutions.
• Enhance and optimize existing cloud solutions to improve performance reliability scalability and cost efficiency.
• Provide technical guidance to teams on the evaluation adoption and implementation of new cloud technologies and strategic initiatives.
• Design develop and deploy modular resilient and scalable cloud-based systems.

• Develop maintain and continuously improve cloud solutions in accordance with established architectural standards and industry best practices
• Ensure the reliable and efficient operation of data storage and processing services in alignment with company security policies compliance requirements and cloud security best practices.
• Identify assess and remediate infrastructure vulnerabilities and application deployment issues in a timely and effective manner.
• Conduct periodic reviews of existing cloud systems and recommend improvements to enhance security performance availability and cost effectiveness.
• Engage with clients and internal stakeholders to provide cloud support understand evolving requirements and recommend appropriate solutions aligned with business needs.

Knowledge and Education:

• Degree in computer science or a similar field.

Work Experience:

• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience designing deploying operating and supporting production cloud environments.
• Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Azure including compute storage networking identity security and managed platform services.
• Practical experience developing and maintaining continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines using Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Actions.
• Experience administering cloud environments and performing systems operations incident response troubleshooting patching backup and recovery activities.
• Experience provisioning and managing cloud infrastructure through automation and Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or equivalent technologies.
• Experience implementing monitoring logging alerting and observability solutions using native or third-party cloud management tools.
• Working knowledge of cloud networking concepts including virtual networks subnets routing firewalls private connectivity load balancing and DNS.
• Experience applying cloud security principles including identity and access management least-privilege access secrets management vulnerability remediation and policy compliance.
• Experience supporting highly available resilient and scalable workloads across development testing and production environments.
• Exposure to cloud cost management and FinOps practices including resource tagging usage analysis rightsizing budgeting and cost optimization.
• Experience collaborating with application development cybersecurity architecture and operations teams in a global enterprise environment.
• Experience preparing technical documentation operational procedures architecture records and support runbooks.

• Strong analytical diagnostic and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to identify root causes and implement effective resolutions.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills with a demonstrated ability to collaborate productively across technical business and global stakeholder groups.
• Strong client and stakeholder management capabilities including the ability to understand requirements manage expectations and maintain trusted professional relationships.
