The Individual will be responsible for managing the end-to-end bid process for domestic RFPs in defence & aerospace segment ensuring timely submission of technical compliant and competitive proposals. The role requires design & engineering understanding including collaboration with multiple stakeholders to develop winning bids that align with business objectives.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Bid Preparation & Tendering:
Identify and analyse tender opportunities from government and private sector customers (e.g. GeM CPPP eProcurement portals direct discussion with customers).
Manage the entire RFP response process including budgetary offers proposal writing document compilation and submission.
Ensure compliance with tender requirements eligibility criteria and testing documentation.
Design & Engineering:
Collect customer requirements and translate them into implementable customized solutions.
Coordination with design & engineering team to ensure submission of compliant bids.
Understanding of MIL-STD / JSS / GSQR / QRs related to defence.
Familiarity with extreme operating conditions such as high altitude wide temperature range (–20°C to 55°C or beyond) humidity dust vibration shock and acoustic requirements.
Knowledge of deration norms load acceptance transient response and reliability requirements for military applications
Experience in coordination and review of type tests acceptance tests FAT/SAT and third-party testing at authorised defence labs.
Exposure to EMI/EMC test reports environmental qualification endurance and noise tests.
Stakeholder Coordination:
Discussion with external stakeholders such as government agencies procurement officials and industry partners.
Documentation & Compliance:
Ability to prepare and review technical compliance statements TDPs QAPs deviation statements and trial support documents.
Knowledge of defence procurement procedures tender terms & conditions LDs warranty spares and lifecycle support requirements.
Maintain a repository of past proposals templates and key bid documents for future reference.
Ensure that all submitted bids meet company policies and customer requirements.
Monitor and track bid progress ensuring deadlines are met without last-minute escalations.
Qualifications & Skills:
Education: Bachelor's degree/ Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
Experience: 7-10 years of experience in bid preparation tendering technical understanding of the subject/ defence norms/ EMI/EMC and environmental testing. With defence sector preferably into power – Diesel Gensets.
Preferred Background: Prior experience in defence power systems / military-grade DG sets will be highly preferred
Required Skills:
Knowledge of costing and pricing strategy for competitive bidding.
Strong understanding of Indian defence procurement regulations and RFP processes.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in MS Office (Word Excel PowerPoint).
Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple bids simultaneously.
Experience with government bidding platforms like GEM CPPP or procurement portals (desirable).
