Wholsum Foods is a fast-growing food brand focused on building trusted better-for-you food products for Indian consumers. As the business scales we are building a strong finance and analytics backbone to support data-driven decision-making across the organization.
Role Summary
The AVP Business Finance & Data Analytics will act as a strategic finance partner to the business combining strong financial acumen with advanced analytics capability. This role will be responsible for driving business performance insights building robust MIS/dashboards supporting budgeting and forecasting and enabling leadership to make faster data-backed decisions. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable with financial rigour and data storytelling.
Key Responsibilities
Business Finance
- Partner with business/category/functional heads to track P&L performance margins and cost efficiency
- Drive annual budgeting quarterly forecasting and variance analysis
- Provide financial evaluation and business case support for new product launches pricing decisions and investments
- Monitor working capital cash flow and unit economics across categories/channels
- Support month-end close processes with business commentary and performance analysis
Data Analytics & MIS
- Design and maintain dashboards and MIS reports covering sales margins opex and key business KPIs
- Build and automate reporting frameworks to reduce manual effort and improve data accuracy
- Translate large datasets into clear actionable insights for leadership and cross-functional teams
- Partner with sales marketing supply chain and category teams to build performance tracking tools
- Identify trends risks and opportunities through data analysis to support strategic decisions
Strategic & Leadership
- Present financial and business performance insights to senior leadership/founders
- Drive process improvement and automation initiatives within finance
- Mentor and guide junior team members in the finance & analytics team
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to embed a data-driven decision-making culture
Key Requirements
Education:
- CA / MBA (Finance) / CFA from a reputed institute
Experience:
- 610 years of experience in business finance FP&A or financial analytics roles
- Prior experience in FMCG/D2C/food & beverage or consumer-facing businesses preferred
- Experience working in a high-growth startup environment is a strong plus
Skills:
- Strong financial modeling budgeting and forecasting skills
- Advanced proficiency in Excel; working knowledge of SQL Power BI/Tableau or similar analytics tools
- Ability to translate complex data into simple actionable business insights
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- High ownership analytical rigor and comfort operating in ambiguity
