Summary:
As a Custom Software Engineering Lead a typical day involves overseeing the technical direction and architectural design of bespoke software solutions tailored to specific requirements. This role includes guiding teams through the entire development lifecycle from initial design concepts to final delivery. The position requires ensuring that development practices meet high standards for code quality scalability and performance all while aligning with the broader business goals. Collaboration with various stakeholders and continuous evaluation of technical approaches are integral parts of the daily routine to drive successful project outcomes.
Roles & Responsibilities:
architecture and implementation of cockpit application suites including media navigation phone cluster virtual gauges HUD projections and settings applications
application frameworks and design patterns such as MVVM Clean Architecture and MVP for scalable maintainable cockpit software across OEM and Tier 1 programs
integration of cockpit applications with AAOS VHAL Car Service APIs middleware layers and vehicle CAN and SOMEIP data sources
cockpit application development teams through design reviews code reviews and technical mentoring sessions
with client UX teams to translate design prototypes from Figma and SketchUp into production HMI applications that meet JAMA distraction guidelines
rendering performance with smooth animations low latency touch response and effective thermal management for extended use
multi display cockpit architectures with synchronized content across cluster center stack IVI and HUD using distributed display or virtual display technologies
compliance with automotive HMI regulatory requirements including JAMA MF0001 SAE J2364 ISO 15008 and NHTSA distraction guidelines
defect resolution for critical cockpit software issues identified during HIL integration client testing and field trials
junior engineers in cockpit application design patterns Qt and AAOS architecture and ASPICE documentation best practices
to technical RFP responses and capability demonstrations for new digital cockpit program engagements.
Professional & Technical Skills:
Have Strong proficiency in Java Kotlin Android and C Plus Plus Qt QML with production HMI application development experience in the cockpit domain
Have In depth AAOS expertise including VHAL interaction Car Service API Car Property Manager system application development and platform customization
Have Strong Qt and QML experience including C Plus Plus backend integration property binding abstract list model animation framework and rendering pipeline
Have Experience with MVVM and MVP application architecture patterns and dependency injection using Hilt Koin and QML Singleton
Have Hands on experience with multi display and multizone cockpit development on AAOS including passenger display cluster and rear seat systems
Have Performance optimization expertise be including GPU profiling memory management and rendering pipeline tuning
Have Experience with Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity stacks and media framework integration in AAOS
to Have Experience with AI powered cockpit features including context aware user interfaces in cabin monitoring integration and predictive navigation
to Have Knowledge of COVESA VSS and vehicle data abstraction services for cockpit application integration
to Have Familiarity with cloud connected cockpit features including OTA content updates remote personalization and fleet analytics
to Have Exposure to augmented reality HUD application development using AR Core or OEM specific AR rendering frameworks
to Understand ISO 26262 ASIL A and ASIL B implications for safety relevant cockpit displays including cluster warnings speed displays and HUD systems
Additional Information:
- The candidate should have minimum six to 10 years of experience in Digital Cockpit / Automotive Infotainment in SDV domain.
- This position is based at our Pune office.
