AI Engineer

An AI Engineer at MathCo is a technical role that involves developing and applying the cutting edge of machine learning system design to create data intensive products for problems commonly encountered by MathCo. Youll be a part of an interdisciplinary team of experts from the fields of computation engineering econometrics data science and machine learn new skills in various domains like generative ai machine learning data engineering product engineering package development and design and apply them as needed.

Youll collaborate with the larger product team of MathCo to take your solutions for real world problems into production.

Youll help create quick prototypes and proof of concepts for our industry partners.

• Ability to think about a given problem statement as a product and a system from an end-to-end perspective.
• Understanding the principles of scalable software design. Can you simultaneously think about computational complexity accuracy and budget of your system
• Understand principles of how to write good modular code that can be quickly put into production is a must. Contribution to active open-source projects is a bonus.
• Understanding the principles of test-driven development.
• Strong understanding of data structures and algorithms.
• Strong quantitative mindset and ability to analyse problems mathematically and programmatically.

Preferred Technical Skillsets:

• Proficiency in Python and SQL: Strong experience with Python for AI development and SQL for database management.
• Experience with Git and VSCode: Proficient in using Git for version control and VSCode as the primary development environment.
• Strong Understanding of Data Structures and OOP Concepts: In-depth knowledge of data structures and object-oriented programming.
• Adherence to Coding and Development Best Practices: Commitment to software design best practices and maintaining high standards in code quality and development processes.
• Front-End/Back-End Development: Experience with front-end and back-end technologies particularly Django and FastAPI.
• Exposure to Machine Learning and Generative AI Fundamentals: Familiarity with the basics of machine learning and generative AI concepts.

Good-to-Have Qualifications:

• Kubernetes: Familiarity in designing deploying and managing scalable applications using Kubernetes
• Front-end development: Familiarity in working with front-end frameworks like react or angular CSS HTML JS.
