Engineer – Configuration Management Services
Job Summary
What youll do
- Create recommended spare parts lists for standard inspections of gas turbines steam turbines and generators across the Heavy-Duty fleet.
- Review as-shipped unit bills of material technical drawings and related documentation; identify relevant sections based on inspection scope; and define recommended spare parts for each section.
- Update spare parts lists based on unit modifications unit record sheet updates and in-service configuration changes.
- Conduct peer reviews to help ensure consistency quality and shared learning across the team including contractors.
- Create and validate spare parts in relevant product lifecycle management and enterprise resource planning systems ensuring item availability and data consistency.
- Partner with Sales Commercial Field Services Design Engineering Sourcing and other teams to support customer needs and service execution.
- Provide technical support for spare parts questions customer inquiries sales initiatives and issue resolution within the scope of the role.
- Support root cause analysis and corrective action activities for quality issues and non-conformance investigations.
- Create maintain and improve standard work work instructions training material and team knowledge assets related to spare parts list creation.
- Contribute to projects that improve spare parts list accuracy process speed data quality and transparency.
- Follow applicable EHS requirements complete required trainings and promptly report incidents risks and near misses.
- Work with accountability collaboration customer focus and a continuous improvement mindset reflecting the GE Vernova Way in daily work.
What youll bring (Basic Qualifications)
- Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering electrical engineering energy engineering mechatronics.
- Ability to read interpret and work with technical documentation such as engineering drawings bills of material material specifications electrical schematics system diagrams and spare parts lists.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Outlook Excel Word and PowerPoint.
- Professional proficiency in English.
- Ability to learn business operating systems technical tools and product data processes.
- Structured way of working with the ability to prioritize tasks follow standard work and deliver with accuracy.
- Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate across functions cultures and time zones.
- Curiosity ownership attention to detail and a willingness to continuously improve how work is done.
What will make you stand out
- Experience with product lifecycle management service bills of material enterprise resource planning systems or similar tools.
- Familiarity with heavy-duty gas turbine generator or power plant technologies especially in fleet management configuration management design engineering application engineering outage engineering or service engineering.
- Experience working with spare parts maintenance planning technical product data or engineering documentation.
- Ability to identify practical process improvements and help implement them with cross-functional partners.
- Hungarian language skills are a plus.
