Cloud Application Security Engineer
Job Summary
What success looks like in this role:
We are seeking a Cloud Application Security Engineer with a strong background in application and cloud security vulnerability management and emerging AI security technologies. The ideal candidate combines hands-on technical expertise with a proactive approach to improving security processes automation and risk management across modern cloud environments.
- Manage the onboarding of applications into Dynamic Application Security Testing (DAST) platforms ensuring comprehensive security scanning and early identification of vulnerabilities throughout the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
- Support and administer Static Application Security Testing (SAST) and Software Composition Analysis (SCA) tools including solutions such as SonarQube Dependency-Track and similar technologies.
- Develop optimize and maintain AI agents prompts and automation scripts to improve security operations by reducing manual effort in areas such as alert enrichment threat triage and report generation.
- Create and maintain dashboards reports and metrics that provide leadership with visibility into AI adoption system performance security outcomes and emerging cyber risk trends.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation covering AI integrations prompt engineering standards operational procedures and security playbooks.
- Monitor and assess emerging AI security risks including prompt injection model manipulation data leakage and other threats associated with AI-powered technologies.
- Support the AI Security Architect in evaluating piloting testing and deploying new AI capabilities and platform enhancements.
- Analyze prioritize and manage vulnerabilities identified across applications and cloud environments partnering with stakeholders to ensure timely remediation and risk mitigation.
- Review and assess new software requests from a security perspective ensuring alignment with organizational security standards policies and best practices.
- Conduct routine and targeted cloud security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities verify security controls and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Develop maintain and communicate cloud security policies standards procedures and governance requirements.
- Serve as a technical escalation point for security tooling issues and collaborate closely with the Unisys Security Operations Center (SOC) team and other security stakeholders.
- Work cross-functionally with engineering architecture operations and security teams to strengthen the organizations overall application and cloud security posture.
You will be successful in this role if you have:
- Bachelors Degree in Cybersecurity Computer Science Computer Engineering Information Technology or similar or the equivalent hands-on experience combined with training and certifications.
- 3-5 years of application security experience
- Solid scripting/programming ability (Python PowerShell or similar) for building automation and integrations.
- Experience with API integrations and SOAR playbook development.
- Engineering experience with cloud identity management systems preferably with AWS IAM or Azure AD.
- Working understanding of AI/ML concepts and their practical application to security use cases including LLMs agents and prompt engineering.
- Experience working in cloud environments (AWS Azure or GCP) and cloud security tooling.
- Proven experience of handling cloud security incidents.
- Have conducted cloud security audits compliance assessments and creating recommendations for improving security posture.
- Handling event streams in cloud platforms or workloads and have worked on automation that ingested or processed these events.
- Communicate effectively with developers project teams technical and business owners the security risks and remediation strategies appropriate for an application.
- Strong organizational skills and time management capabilities.
