They are currently seeking aSenior Control Engineering & Modeling Engineer (all genders) to strengthen their international R&D team based in the North Rhine-Westphalia region.

• Monitor and analyze the latest developments in automation control engineering and machine intelligence both in academic research and industrial applications.
• Develop and design innovative technical solutions.
• Create and analyze dynamic system models using bothfirst-principles (physics-based) anddata-driven modeling approaches.
• Design and executeModel-in-the-Loop (MiL) andHardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) testing for model-based (adaptive) control architectures and AI applications.
• Continuously develop and improve both new and existing software solutions (legacy systems) in line with defined development objectives.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation and reports.
• Plan and facilitate technical discussions while presenting and communicating project results to internal stakeholders.

• Masters degree or PhD in Control Engineering Automation Engineering Electrical Engineering Cybernetics Physics or a comparable discipline.
• Proven practical experience incontrol engineering/control theory preferably with a focus onmodel-based andadaptive control.
• Strong expertise in the modeling and simulation of technical systems.
• Experience inMachine Learning and/orData Science ideally focusing on resource-constrained applications or hybrid approaches combining data-driven and physics-based models.
• Experience in the development ofelectro-hydraulic systems ideally for heavy-duty mobile machinery.
• Excellent technical understanding of complex systems.
• Strong practical experience withMATLAB andPython.
• Initial experience withAmeSim is considered an advantage.
• Professional proficiency in written and spoken English.
