The role (BESS Project Manager):The BESS Project Manager is a high-impact role responsible for delivering battery storage projects end-to-end from early development through to construction and commissioning. Youll lead complex multidisciplinary projects owning schedules budgets risk and stakeholder engagement while coordinating engineering procurement and construction activities. Its a role with real ownership and visibility sitting at the centre of one of the fastest-growing areas in energy and directly enabling the integration of renewables and the evolution of a more flexible resilient grid.
Responsibilities
Lead the planning implementation and successful delivery of BESS projects ensuring adherence to budget deadlines safety and quality standards.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including engineering procurement construction and finance to ensure projects align with organizational objectives.
Build and sustain strong relationships with a diverse network of stakeholders including clients suppliers contractors and partners acting as the central point of communication throughout the project lifecycle.
Leverage project management tools to track progress manage budgets take proactive steps to address risks and implement mitigation strategies effectively.
Develop and present in-depth project plans updates and reports to stakeholders and leadership teams.
Ensure all project activities comply with German and EU regulations and adhere to industry standards and best practices.
Tackle challenges head-on resolving operational obstacles to keep projects on track and achieve successful outcomes.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Engineering Renewable Energy Project Management Business Administration or a related field (Masters degree is a plus).
Proven experience managing complex projects with a preference for candidates with expertise in renewable energy energy storage systems or electrical power systems.
Comprehensive understanding of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) including their design integration and operational frameworks.
In-depth knowledge of project management principles and methodologies (e.g. Agile Waterfall) along with proficiency in tools like MS Project Primavera or similar.
Track record of delivering large-scale high-complexity projects involving multiple stakeholders in fast-paced environments.
Exceptional communication leadership and problem-solving skills.
Project management certification (e.g. PMP PRINCE2) is a strong advantage.
Familiarity with German regulations industry standards and requirements relating to renewable energy and energy storage systems is highly desirable.
