The Processing Technician is responsible for receiving inventory and processing fresh patient samples. They will be performing PMBC or cell subset isolations plasma fractionations serum separations cell thawing cell counting and generating whole blood aliquots. Additionally this role will be responsible for receiving inventory and accessioning of fresh biological samples into data management system.
Your Tasks and Responsibilities:
Receive inventory and process fresh biological samples:
Receive and inventory all incoming fresh biological samples into electronic data management system BSI database.
Perform cell isolations and/or separate whole blood and body fluids into various components and using LIMS database to report track and record samples
Perform cryopreservation of all isolated cells
Prepare all reagents used in lab
Create and perform first key of data collection sheets
Perform equipment preventive maintenance and laboratory organization
Perform cell thawing and cell count measurements
Participate in a rotating Saturday shift schedule to support weekend sample processing activities ensuring timely receipt accessioning and processing. A compensatory day off will be granted.
Order and inspect lab supplies
Respond to freezer alarmsin accordance withstandard operating procedure
Carry out other duties/projects as assigned
Desired Qualifications:
Associates degree (Biology Chemistry or Life Sciences) or equivalent combination of education and experience
Basic laboratory skills experience in pipetting and be trained in aseptic technique
At least 6-month laboratory experience tasks including pipetting performing procedures under GLP (good laboratory practices)
Good computer skills confident handling of MS Office ( Word PowerPoint)
Good attention to detail excellent documentation skills and must work well in a group environment
Must be able to read write speak fluently andcomprehendthe English and ideally German language
