The Market Analysis team in Germany is experiencing unprecedented demand creating an exciting opportunity for a Power Market Modelling Manager to join their ranks. Responsibilities
As a Power Market Modelling Manager you will:
- Apply and oversee fundamental bottom-up power market modelling to serve as the analytical foundation for both client and internal projects.
- Manage the delivery of typically two concurrent projects spanning internal market intelligence products and external client engagements with utilities TSOs and large transactions.
- Own client relationships end-to-end presenting and defending complex market analysis directly to senior client stakeholders.
- Mentor and support analysts and consultants contributing to their professional growth and project allocation.
- Operate with significant autonomy taking full accountability for project outcomes and chargeability without daily oversight.
- Contribute to business development positioning yourself for a future transition into a sales-focused Principal role.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role you should bring:
- Deep expertise in fundamental bottom-up power market modelling built from generation demand cost and policy drivers rather than reduced-form or purely statistical approaches.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in power market modelling with a proven track record of managing projects and ideally mentoring junior team members.
- A background in a consultancy utility or comparable energy market environment where fundamental modelling was a core responsibility.
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage senior client relationships.
- Comfort operating with autonomy and taking full ownership of project outcomes.
- German language proficiency at B2 level with fluent English as most project work is conducted in English.
