Job Summary

Your mission

We offer a6-month unpaid internship in our Berlin officefor university students studying fields relevant to KAYAs work.
The internship provides an opportunity togain practical experience apply academic knowledge to real projects and learn about the development and implementation of nature-based solutions in an international working environment.

Your responsibilities

Depending on your background and KAYAs current projects you may support our team with:

Research related to forestry natureconservationand restoration
Research and analysis of environmental and ecological topics
Support for nature-based solutions and climate projects
GIS remotesensingor spatial data analysis
Data collectionprocessingand documentation
Preparation of reportspresentationsand project materials
Support with project development and feasibility assessments
Other tasks related to KAYAs ongoing projects and areas of expertise

The exact responsibilities will depend on your academic background skills and the projects available during your internship.

Your profile

Are currently enrolled at a universityin Berlinand require an internship as part of their studyprogram

Are eager to gain practical experience and learn from an international team
Have good analytical and research skills
Are comfortable working independently and as part of ateam andare able towork from our office several times per week.
Have good English communication skills

KAYA is a Germany- and Angola-based organisation that came to life in 2023. It was started by purpose-driven professionals with different cultural backgrounds and with several years of experience in nature conservation clean energy and rural development. KAYAs vision is to mitigate climate change by working with doing so it also aspires to support the impacted communities and societies in accessing new livelihoods and becoming more resilient. KAYAs mission is to develop multi-year landscape-scale conservation and restoration projects in terrestrial ecosystems. It will bring the developed projects upon maturity to the nature market for payments for their ecosystem services.
