Intern Material Testing Job ID 78005 I Location Salzgitter I for a period of 5-6 months
Your Responsibilities
Youll be at the forefront of materials testing and evaluation related to heat treatment processes for components in the railway industry.
Discover why and how materials are heat-treated and how normalization and batches affect the material.
Through your analyses and evaluations of material test reports youll provide valuable insights particularly regarding tensile strength and notch impact values.
Work with us to optimize the sampling strategy e.g. through the smart use of reference specimens to avoid destructive testing.
By creating standardized sampling documents and building a statistical database for materials science you will actively contribute to quality assurance and innovation.
Coordinating with suppliers regarding raw materials and material compositions is also part of your responsibilities.
Harness the power of AI and contribute to the development and application of AI-based methods for automated data collection and analysis. (Programming skills are a plus but not required!)
Your Profile
You are a currently enrolled student in mechanical engineering materials engineering materials science or a related field.
Ideally you already have experience in materials testing and a basic understanding of materials science.
Some experience with post-hardening processes and data analysis is a plus.
You are characterized by your enthusiasm and commitment to materials and data analysis.
You have good computer skills (especially MS Office) as well as very good written and spoken German.
Your strengths include an independent and structured approach to work organizational skills and the ability to work in a team and communicate effectively.
