Instrument Scientist (f/m/d)
The Position
- Operation and maintenance of 2D imaging detectors
- Support and development of coherent diffraction imaging experiments on clusters nano-particles and biomolecules
- Operation maintenance and development of sample delivery sources for clusters and nanoparticles
- Active participation in the broad science program at the SQS instrument
- Development of individual research activities at the European XFEL
- Support and consultation to instrument users for their experimental campaign
Requirements
- PhD in physics or an equivalent academic degree
- Experience with coherent diffraction imaging methods
- Experience in handling and operation of cluster and nanoparticles sources and/or liquid jets
- Motivation to participate in the operation of an experimental station enabling forefront research at Free Electron Lasers
- Substantial knowledge of data acquisition and data processing tools
- Good communication skills in English
