As Finance Director Germany you will serve as the most senior finance leader for one of Pfizers largest international markets. You will partner closely with the Country President and Leadership Team to translate business strategy into financial performance drive sustainable growth and enable informed decision-making. This role combines strategic finance leadership commercial business partnership governance oversight and people leadership. You will help shape market strategy optimize capital deployment lead financial planning and forecasting and ensure a strong control environment while guiding a high-performing finance organization.

What You Will Achieve

Strategic Finance Leadership

• Serve as the senior finance leader for the Germany market.
• Provide strategic financial guidance to the Country President and Country Leadership Team.
• Translate commercial strategy into robust financial plans and actionable business insights.
• Develop and execute financial strategies supporting both commercial and financial objectives.
• Establish and monitor key performance indicators to measure business performance.

Business Partnership

• Act as a trusted finance partner to commercial leadership.
• Provide financial leadership for go-to-market initiatives and business transformation programs.
• Support portfolio decisions through financial analysis and scenario planning.
• Deliver forward-looking insights on business opportunities and financial risks.

Financial Planning & Performance Management

• Lead annual planning forecasting and month-end performance processes.
• Drive delivery of financial commitments and performance targets.
• Monitor business results and provide executive-ready recommendations.
• Support working capital initiatives including Accounts Receivable and Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) management.

Compliance Governance & Controls

• Maintain a strong internal control environment.
• Ensure compliance with Pfizer policies statutory requirements tax regulations and audit expectations.
• Oversee Trade Compliance and Good Distribution Practice (GDP) activities for Germany.
• Support continued readiness for internal and external audits.

People Leadership

• Lead and develop a multidisciplinary finance organization.
• Build organizational capability and succession plans.
• Foster an inclusive and high-performance culture aligned with Pfizers values.
• Coach and support leaders across the finance function.

Stakeholder Management

• Represent Finance within the Germany Country Leadership Team.
• Collaborate with Commercial Medical Supply Finance & GBS and other enabling functions.
• Engage with auditors authorities and employee representative bodies as required.

Basic Qualifications

• University degree in Finance Accounting Business Administration Economics or a related field.
• Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in business finance controlling or commercial finance.
• Demonstrated experience leading financial planning forecasting and business performance management processes.
• Experience operating as a finance business partner to senior commercial leadership.
• Experience leading managers and multidisciplinary teams.
• Knowledge of internal controls governance frameworks and compliance requirements.
• Fluent German and English both written and spoken.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced finance qualification (MBA CPA ACCA CIMA or equivalent).
• Experience within the pharmaceutical biotechnology healthcare or life sciences industry.
• Knowledge of trade compliance distribution operations or Good Distribution Practice (GDP).
• Experience leading business transformation process optimization or digital finance initiatives.
• Experience operating within a multinational matrix environment.
