Chief Accountant

The Global Shared Services (GSS) organization within DNV provides high-quality cost-effective services and processes within Human Resources Finance and IT based on the requirements defined by the business areas and the addition GSS builds central competence for selected services projects and the development of policies procedures and system implementations on a global regional and local level.

For our Central Europe (CE) region we are looking for immediate reinforcement as Chief Accountant within this role you will be responsible for the individual statutory financial statements of subsidiaries under German GAAP (HGB) the reporting of IFRS financial information for the individual entities and the monitoring and compliance with relevant this context you will work closely with the Norwegian parent company which prepares the consolidated financial statements the local tax team and the Global Shared Service Center in Poland.
The position offers the opportunity to gain deeper experience in accounting in an international environment and to gradually take on responsibility for a broad range of statutory-related tasks.
Main Responsibilities
- Monitoring compliance with statutory requirements preparation of statutory financial statements and notes and ensuring compliance with relevant compliance requirements
- Acting as the central point of contact for auditors in connection with the annual audit
- Close collaboration with the regional tax team
- Monitoring key financial information such as equity and liquidity development as well as dividend planning
- Contributing to the accounting treatment of corporate transactions e.g. acquisitions divestments or corporate restructuring measures
- Collaboration with business controllers and GSS to standardize monthly and annual reporting
- In collaboration with the Global Center driving standardization and continuous improvement of accounting processes monitoring and analyzing relevant financial and process-related indicators and deriving measures to ensure achievement and continuous improvement of target values.

Qualifications
- University degree in business administration economics or a comparable commercial qualification e.g. certified accountant
- Very good knowledge of German GAAP (HGB) accounting and bookkeeping ideally complemented by basic knowledge of tax law
- At least three years of practical experience in accounting e.g. in the preparation of annual financial statements or auditing
- Experience in an international environment and interest in cross-functional business processes
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office especially Excel Word Outlook and PowerPoint
- Fluent German both written and spoken
- Good to very good English skills both written and spoken
- High willingness to learn and motivation to develop professionally and gradually take on responsibility within the Chief Accountant team
- Good communication skills enjoyment of teamwork and the ability to build trusted relationships with key stakeholders
- Structured careful and analytical way of working combined with the willingness to proactively drive solution-oriented improvements
