ABOUT THE ROLE
ProfessionLX specializes in professional services where we engage our employees to empower them to excel for our customers. We are currently seeking part-time Catholic Religious Education Coordinator candidates to join our team in support of the US Air Force in Spangdahlem Air Base. This position will provide Catholic religious education opportunities oversee youth and adult programs file sacramental records and manage volunteer personnel. Successful candidates will possess 3 years experience using MS Office applications be a practicing Catholic in good standing and be able to pass a background check.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
The Catholic Coordinator of Religious Education will oversee and coordinate the Catholic Religious Education and sacramental formation program including youth programming Adult RE/OCIA First Communion/First Reconciliation Confirmation and baptismal preparation. The Coordinator will work closely with the Catholic Chaplain to develop the annual program calendar and plan seasonal programs retreats community activities and other events supporting Catholic faith life.
The Coordinator will recruit train and support volunteer catechists and assistants; coordinate required background checks and clearances; and maintain accurate attendance training volunteer and sacramental records. Responsibilities also include managing program resources and supplies supporting budget and purchase requests preparing program communications and publicity materials and ensuring classrooms and activities are properly prepared and effectively delivered.
The Coordinator will maintain regular communication with the Catholic Chaplain participate in required meetings and briefings represent the Catholic parish at community events as needed and complete all applicable U.S. Air Force and Archdiocese for the Military Services training requirements.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
You will be a Confirmed Catholic in good standing with the Church and either hold AMS Catechist certification or be able to obtain certification within six months of starting the role. You will also have completed or be able to provide the required Youth Protection Training and be able to successfully complete the required background checks.
You will bring at least three years of experience using Microsoft Office applications including Word Excel PowerPoint and Outlook together with strong written and verbal English communication skills. You will be comfortable working in a religiously pluralistic environment and experience with design applications such as Canva would be an advantage.
YOUR EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS
- Certified Archdiocese for the Military Services (AMS) Catechist or able to obtain certification within six months of contract award.
- Able to obtain a Youth Protection Training certification in accordance with the Dallas Charter through either VIRTUS Online or Scouting Americas Youth Protection Training program.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING Were looking for a mature Christian leader with a bachelors degree and at least four years of experience leading Protestant religious education or ministry programs. You should have demonstrated success developing volunteers coordinating childrens and youth ministries communicating effectively in English and working independently while building strong relationships within a faith community. Applicants must be able to successfully complete all required background screening for working with children and youth. YOUR EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS Bachelors degree or higher from an accredited institution. Minimum of four (4) years of experience directing or leading Protestant religious education or faith formation programs. Demonstrated knowledge of Christian scripture Protestant doctrine and contemporary Christian education principles and curriculum. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Fluent in spoken and written English. Must be able to successfully complete all required criminal background checks and child/youth screening requirements before working with minors.
