Procurement manager Cockpit Systems, Avionics Platforms & Connectivity (MF)

Job Description:

A strategic opportunity for a Procurement Manager in Avionics Systems Platforms & Connectivity has arisen within Airbus Commercial Aircraft in Toulouse joining the Equipment and Systems Procurement department.

Inside the Cockpit Platform & Connectivity systems team you will be at the crossroads of innovation directly influencing how tomorrows systems evolve towards greater connectivity and autonomy. Joining a multicultural and highly engaged team within Equipment & Systems Procurement you will develop end-to-end business solutions with a direct impact on Airbus revenues costs and EBIT. You will be part of a multi-functional team (MFT) responsible for aligning with Programs Supply Chain Engineering and Customer Services bringing the big picture into your perimeter.

As Procurement Manager your main activities will be the following:

• Lead a strategic multi-program Call for Tenders across A320 A330 A350 and A400M - driving end-to-end sourcing contract negotiations and the inaugural introduction of a modular avionics platform on the A320 and A330 aircraft families;
• Participate in shaping long-term platform strategies using tender outcomes market insights and technological building blocks to directly feed Airbus procurement roadmap for Next Generation Single Aisle program;
• Manage your contract portfolio across its full lifecycle (innovation development series production and in-service support) with key aeronautical suppliers ensuring strict compliance with contractual terms and conditions and procurement policies;
• Negotiate amendements and claims with suppliers to secure the best commercial and operational terms for Airbus;
• Drive strategic supplier relationships and performance;proactively managing supply chain and commercial risks and ensuring supplier alignment with Airbus standards;
• Ensure cross-functional alignment across key internal stakeholders (Programs Engineering Supply Chain Customer Support Quality Finance and Legal) and actively contribute to MFTs and R&T initiatives;
• Participate or lead negotations to frame R&D projects preparing the competitive ground for future calls for tenders on new technologies or new systems

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

• Educated to 5-year degree level in Business Procurement or Engineering;
• Significant experience in Procurement/Buying with a proven track record in leading complex high-stakes tenders (RFPs);
• Experience in software sourcing avionics systems or complex equipment platform integration is a strong plus;
• Excellent communication negotiation and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence multi-functional teams (Engineering Programs Supply Chain);
• Proactive customer-oriented and passionate about new technologies system modularity and aerospace innovation;
• Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory (negotiation level); French is a plus.
