Software Presales

This is a remote position.

Job Summary:

As a Software Presales Engineer you will work alongside the sales team to identify customer needs recommend suitable solutions and provide demonstrations and technical expertise on the software products. Your primary objective is to help prospects understand how our software can solve their business challenges and enable their success. This role requires a blend of technical knowledge communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with potential customers.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

1. Customer Engagement & Requirement Gathering:

Work closely with sales reps to understand the prospect s business needs technical requirements and pain points.

Conduct discovery calls and workshops to gather and assess customer requirements.

Translate customer business challenges into software solutions.

2. Product Demonstrations & Presentations:

Deliver live product demonstrations highlighting key features functionality and benefits relevant to the customer s needs.

Tailor presentations and demonstrations to align with customer-specific use cases and industry requirements.

3. Technical Expertise & Solution Design:

Provide technical advice and guidance on product capabilities architecture and integration.

Design custom solutions based on the prospect s requirements working with the technical team to ensure feasibility.

Respond to technical inquiries ensuring clarity and relevance in communication.

4. RFP/RFI Responses & Proposal Development:

Assist in the preparation of Request for Proposal (RFP) and Request for Information (RFI) responses ensuring alignment with customer requirements.

Work with the sales and product teams to develop pricing and proposals.

5. Sales Support & Collaboration:

Partner with Account Executives and other members of the sales team to drive the sales process from initial inquiry through closing.

Provide technical input to support contract negotiations.

Assist in defining customer success criteria and ensure alignment between sales and customer expectations.

6. Proof of Concept & Pilot Programs:

Help design and implement proof-of-concept (PoC) or pilot programs to demonstrate the software s capabilities and value.

Monitor and manage PoC engagement gather feedback and assist in the successful evaluation and closure of sales opportunities.

7. Market & Competitive Analysis:

Stay current on industry trends competitor products and technological advancements to provide valuable insights during the sales process.

Help refine messaging and positioning based on customer feedback and market knowledge.

8. Post-Sales Handoff:

Ensure smooth transition to the customer success or implementation team post-sale ensuring customer expectations are aligned with the solution delivered.

Digital Transformation Expertise: Leverage proven experience in digital transformation systems to design solutions that address complex business challenges.

10. Government Collaboration:

Apply prior experience in working with government entities to align IoT solutions with public sector needs regulations and objectives.

Qualifications:

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Education: Bachelors degree in computer science Information Technology Engineering or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

Experience:

From 3 to 5 years of experience in presales solutions engineering or technical sales in the software industry.

Experience with cloud-based solutions SaaS enterprise software or similar technology solutions.

Technical Skills:

Strong understanding of software architecture integration points and APIs.

Familiarity with common databases web technologies and development frameworks.

Ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
