What Youll Work On:

• Develop theoretical and numerical models of qubit devices gate operations and physical-layer processes to guide next-generation processor design

• Design and evaluate system architectures under hardware-specific constraints and realistic noise models

• Translate device-level physics into architecture-level requirements and architecture-level goals into concrete device specifications

• Determine error budgets and gate fidelity requirements from architecture-level targets

• Build simulation and modeling tools for system design performance analysis and roadmap planning

• Work directly with the hardware team to inform device design and validate models

• Lead high-impact research projects with a multidisciplinary team of experimental and theoretical physicists engineers and computer scientists

You May Be a Good Fit If You Have:

• A PhD in physics applied physics computer science electrical engineering or an equivalent degree in a similar field

• 510 years of experience in the theory and modeling of quantum computing hardware

• Publications in quantum device physics quantum architecture or related fields

• Strong programming skills in a scientific computing environment

• Proven track record of successful cross-team collaborative projects

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Strong Candidates May Have:

• Experience translating cutting-edge R&D into commercial products or roadmap milestones

• Experience with the modeling of multiple or heterogeneous qubit platforms

• Experience translating abstract models into hardware-aware protocols

• Experience bridging theory and experiment on real quantum hardware

• Familiarity with quantum error correction and fault-tolerant architecture
