Were looking for a Mobile App Developer Intern (Working Student) to help build and shape the next generation of the Make mobile app in a highly autonomous setup backed by the scale impact and resources of Make.
This is not a shadowing internship. You will ship starting from August.
Please note: interview for this role requires on-site presence on the afternoon of 22 July at our Prague office.
Make runs millions of scenarios daily across 200 countries with a reliability SLO target of 99.95%. On mobile youll help build a native experience on top of that platform using modern technologies (Kotlin Multiplatform and SwiftUI) and integrate with our backend services over RESTful APIs.
We deploy many times a day use feature flags for conscious releases and expect engineers to own their work end-to-end from idea to production. Youll stay close to the product prototyping fast and iterating constantly.
Youll join the mobile engineering effort within our Product eXperiences & Engineering org working side by side with the engineering lead who owns mobile and the product manager shaping where the apps go next. The setup is small and largely greenfield so your footprint is big from day one: you help define how mobile works at Make not just maintain what exists and your features reach users on iOS and Android worldwide.
- Rapidly prototype implement features and optimize mobile experiences
- Interface with backend engineering teams to align on API contracts and data integration
- Submit pull requests receive structured feedback and pair program on complex problems
- Use AI tools like Claude Code Cursor or Copilot as part of your daily workflow
- Work on features used by thousands of global users
- Currently enrolled or a recent graduate of a university program
- Fluent English (spoken and written)
- Solid software engineering foundations: clean logic problem-solving and a good grasp of programming basics
- Basic knowledge or experience in mobile development: Swift/SwiftUI Kotlin or cross-platform concepts (side projects school projects or hobby apps count)
- Basic understanding of RESTful APIs and how a mobile client fetches and sends data to backend services
- AI literacy: eagerness to use modern agentic development workflows (Claude Code Cursor) responsibly and effectively
- Platform fluency a plus (Slack Google Workspace etc.)
- High agency and autonomy: you take ownership and figure out how to get things done
- A balanced AI-assisted developer: you use AI tools heavily to accelerate your work but you understand exactly what the code does
- Creativity and a product mindset: you think about user experience not just code
- You ask why before writing code and you prefer building and iterating over overthinking
- Youre not afraid to challenge ideas constructively
- Production-level coding experience and direct exposure to how global SaaS systems are built
- Modern development practices in a professional AI-native environment
- Growth from a pure developer into a holistic builder who balances code quality design fidelity and user experience
- Location: Make office at Palmovka Prague (at least two days a week in the office)
