Database Engineering Lead

We are looking for a DBA Lead to take full ownership of the database operations domain across a hybrid multi-platform estate (SQL Server Oracle legacy and cloud-native). The client is a major European energy company operating in 10 European countries with a complex hybrid IT estate supporting mission-critical operational systems.

• Manage end-to-end DBA service delivery (monitoring backups patching performance tuning capacity management)
• Oversee discovery dependency mapping and operational runbook creation
• Govern offshore DBA operations regarding BAU incident handling and change management
• Define clear infrastructure/application boundary protocols for data and app teams
• Ensure bulletproof DR backup and RTO/RPO compliance
• Champion automation initiatives (health checks alerting auto-remediation)

• 5 years of professional DBA experience
• Deep proficiency in MSSQL Server or Oracle SQL with good cross-platform awareness
• Proven cloud DBA hands-on background (provisioning HA failover disaster recovery)
• Proficiency in PowerShell or Python
• Solid background in ITIL service management
• Fluency in English; German is advantageous
• MCSA SQL Server / OCP certifications preferred
