Vice President, Information Systems

Position Overview

We are looking for a Vice President Information Systems to lead the next stage of growth and operational maturity within Calians enterprise technology environment.

As Calian continues to grow through both organic expansion and acquisitions this role will ensure Information Systems can scale alongside the business while delivering reliable services operational excellence and a strong employee experience.

Reporting to the Chief Information and Technology Officer (CITO) the Vice President is responsible for translating technology strategy into business results through strong operational leadership scalable services and disciplined execution. You will oversee the Information Systems organization including enterprise applications infrastructure service delivery enterprise architecture project portfolio management vendor partnerships and technology planning.

Success will come from improving service delivery strengthening organizational effectiveness reducing operational friction and positioning Information Systems to support Calians future growth.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive leadership for the Information Systems function ensuring technology services and capabilities effectively support business priorities and growth objectives.
• Translate technology strategy into operational plans scalable services and measurable business outcomes.
• Lead enterprise applications infrastructure end-user services enterprise architecture and technology operations.
• Drive operational excellence through improved service delivery employee experience organizational effectiveness and continuous improvement.
• Partner with business leaders to support modernization automation digital transformation and business enablement initiatives.
• Oversee technology planning project portfolio governance delivery performance and value realization.
• Support mergers and acquisitions through technology due diligence integration planning and onboarding activities.
• Manage technology budgets strategic vendor relationships contracts and investment priorities.
• Partner closely with Cybersecurity & Governance to ensure technology services align with security compliance privacy and enterprise risk requirements.
• Build and develop a high-performing leadership team while fostering a culture of accountability collaboration customer service and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 15 years of progressive leadership experience across Information Systems Technology organizations enterprise applications infrastructure service delivery and digital transformation.
• Experience leading multiple enterprise technology functions within a large complex and growth-oriented organization.
• Strong understanding of enterprise applications ERP CRM HRIS M365 infrastructure cloud services networking end-user computing and IT service management.
• Demonstrated success translating technology strategy into operational execution and measurable business outcomes.
• Proven experience improving service delivery operational performance employee experience and organizational effectiveness through scalable processes technology and people leadership.
• Experience leading large-scale transformation programs modernization initiatives and organizational change.
• Demonstrated ability to build develop and lead high-performing teams while fostering a culture of accountability collaboration customer service and continuous improvement.
• Strong stakeholder management and business partnership skills with the ability to build credibility influence decisions and establish trusted relationships across all levels of an organization.
• Proven success managing enterprise budgets strategic vendors contracts and technology investments.
• Experience supporting mergers acquisitions and technology integration activities.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity privacy compliance and enterprise risk concepts with the ability to effectively partner with governance and security teams.
• Ability to balance long-term strategic planning with disciplined operational execution in a dynamic and evolving environment.
• Exceptional communication leadership change management and relationship-building skills.
• Demonstrated track record of accountability follow-through and delivering on commitments.
• Experience operating in a fast-paced growth-oriented environment supporting organizational expansion and acquisition activity.
• Commitment to customer service collaboration continuous improvement and business partnership.
• Ability to lead through change while building trust credibility and strong relationships across the organization.

Additional Requirements

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret level security clearance.
• Ability to work from the Ottawa office on a regular basis.
