The candidate brings over 10 years of extensive experience supporting large-scale IBM Mainframe environments within enterprise and government organizations specializing in Mainframe Performance Capacity Management Infrastructure Modernization and Data Center Transformation initiatives.
Requirements
Key areas of expertise include:
- Over 10 years of hands-on experience providing operational oversight administration and support for Tier-4 enterprise Mainframe infrastructure environments.
- Extensive experience performing Mainframe Performance and Capacity Management activities including capacity planning workload forecasting resource utilization analysis and infrastructure optimization.
- Strong expertise working with IBM Mainframe performance tools including MICS RMF SMF and various ISV capacity management solutions for monitoring reporting and trend analysis.
- Demonstrated experience analyzing SMF data and generating detailed capacity reports to support infrastructure planning budgeting and performance tuning initiatives.
- Proven ability to conduct CPU capacity assessments hardware refresh evaluations and "what-if" workload impact modeling to support strategic infrastructure decisions.
- Extensive knowledge of IBM Mainframe CPU technologies including MIPS MSUs zIIP processors Capacity Backup (CBU) and Capacity on Demand (CoD) concepts.
- Experience performing complex workload impact calculations across multi-LPAR and multi-partitioned enterprise environments.
- Strong background reconciling Mainframe software vendor billing ISV workload charges software licensing consumption and capacity-based cost optimization initiatives.
- Proficient in SAS Programming for capacity reporting performance analytics trend forecasting and executive-level reporting.
- Demonstrated success identifying and implementing CPU cost-saving opportunities through workload balancing zIIP offloading software optimization and capacity management best practices.
- Experience supporting Mainframe hardware refresh projects infrastructure modernization initiatives software upgrades migration programs and disaster recovery implementations.
- Extensive involvement in Data Center transition activities hardware/software migrations and enterprise infrastructure transformation programs within mission-critical environments.
- Experience planning configuring supporting and implementing new Mainframe hardware platforms and associated software products.
- Strong knowledge of Disaster Recovery (DR) planning testing readiness validation recovery exercises and business continuity operations.
- Proven experience managing incidents problems change requests and operational support activities while maintaining strict Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Skilled in root cause analysis technical troubleshooting incident prevention and development of operational procedures and best practices.
- Experience utilizing IBM and third-party vendor support tools for incident management problem resolution and software maintenance activities.
- Strong collaboration skills working with infrastructure teams application development groups operations teams vendors and business stakeholders to deliver enterprise technology solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to produce comprehensive technical documentation capacity plans operational procedures migration strategies architecture artifacts and executive-level reports.
- Experience supporting large-scale government or public-sector environments with high availability security and operational compliance requirements.
- Strong communication presentation and stakeholder management skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into business-focused recommendations.
