Description
The Operations Systems Technologist supports the deployment maintenance and continuous improvement of operational technologies that drive revenue visibility and operational performance. Working closely with internal teams and external vendors this role helps ensure reliable system performance strong data integrity and minimal disruption to operations.
Key Accountabilities
- Perform preventive maintenance diagnostics and repairs on operations technologies and equipment.
- Troubleshoot mechanical electrical software and network issues to minimize downtime and restore performance.
- Support the deployment installation and commissioning of new technologies devices and automation systems.
- Monitor system performance including uptime and capture rates and develop reports to identify gaps and improvement opportunities.
- Collaborate with internal technology teams and vendors on upgrades implementations and issue resolution.
- Contribute to projects across the Operations Systems portfolio supporting standardization and continuous improvement across sites.
Qualifications
- Strong communication innovation change management relationship-building and leadership skills.
- Excellent analytical technical and problem-solving abilities with experience troubleshooting and maintaining technical systems.
- Flexibility to work varied hours including weekends.
- Ability to travel primarily within Northern Alberta.
- Physical capability to lift heavy objects.
- A valid drivers license is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in engineering electronics technology computer science or a related field or equivalent technical experience.
- Experience in transportation logistics or express parcel operations including mobility and scanning technologies.
Working Conditions
- Office and warehouse environments.
- Regular travel within the assigned region.
Language Requirement: Proficiency in English is required for this position due to the frequent communications that must be conducted in English with various stakeholders. This requirement is justified by the nature of the responsibilities and operational needs.
