Reporting to the Director Consulting Services responsible for Client Relations the Team Lead - Verification Client Investigations and Fraud Prevention plays a key role in leading a team specializing in client verification risk analysis and investigations involving situations that require particular attention.
As both a hands-on leader and an operational subject matter resource you will support the team in analyzing complex cases and become directly involved when your expertise and judgment can make a difference. However your role goes beyond day-to-day operations. You will also contribute to enhancing our methods tools and controls developing the teams expertise and strengthening fraud prevention and Know Your Customer practices across the doing so you will contribute to the development of a true centre of expertise in verification client investigations and fraud prevention.
Lead and develop a specialized team
You will provide day-to-day leadership to the team and create an environment that enables each team member to develop their expertise autonomy and professional judgment. More specifically you will:
- Coordinate activities and assign cases based on priorities volumes and risk levels.
- Support team members in their analyses and decision-making.
- Act as a resource person in unusual sensitive or complex situations.
- Ensure the quality and consistency of analyses and recommendations.
- Contribute to skills development and the onboarding of new team members.
- Foster a collaborative environment focused on accountability and knowledge sharing.
Put your expertise into action
You will remain closely involved in operations and step in when your experience and judgment are particularly important.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Analyze or review complex or atypical cases or cases involving significant risk factors.
- Approve cases request additional verification or escalate them when required.
- Guide analysts in interpreting information and assessing risks.
- Participate in the analysis of situations that may show indicators of fraud identity theft misrepresentation or inconsistencies.
- Conduct or oversee in-depth research on organizations their activities corporate structures officers beneficial owners or representatives.
Advance our practices and expand the impact of our expertise
You will have a tangible impact on the evolution of verification and risk prevention practices while helping increase awareness of the teams expertise and added value across the organization. You will contribute to:
- Enhancing procedures verification criteria and decision-support tools.
- Identifying and implementing improvements to increase the efficiency quality and consistency of verification activities.
- Contributing to the evolution of technology tools and information sources.
- Collaborating on projects related to client verification authentication KYC/KYB and fraud prevention.
- Building collaborative relationships with onboarding customer service compliance and security teams.
- Sharing the teams expertise and raising awareness among internal partners about issues related to fraud identity and customer due diligence.

DESIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
Your experience may have been developed in fraud prevention risk analysis verification KYC/KYB investigations compliance security financial services or a related field. We are particularly looking for:
- Relevant experience analyzing complex cases and making risk-based decisions.
- 3 to 5 years of coordination and supervisory experience.
- A good understanding of corporate structures and concepts related to directors officers beneficial owners and authorized representatives.
- Knowledge of identity and client verification principles.
- The ability to conduct research using government registries public sources and other reliable sources.
CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level geographic market experience and training and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $60000$100000. This role is an existing vacancy.
Bilingualism (French and English) is required for this position due to the nature of the role requiring interaction with national and global clients.
