Steel Labourer

Responsibilities:

• Demonstrates ability to meet production standards on specific assignments within required time
• Maintains good housekeeping and clean work areas in assigned space
• Performs all assignments in accordance with safety specifications instructions and requirements
• Responsible for safety and quality throughout production
• Responsible for notifying a Production Lead or Supervisor when they step off the line to ensure safety and quality standards are maintained
• Reports all production waste/issues to the Production Lead or Supervisor
• Performs other duties as required by Supervisor or Manager
• Follows all company policies and procedures

Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Experience working in a Manufacturing Environment
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Understand plant safety guidelines and pass all required safety training
• Must be able to understand verbal and written instructions
• Troubleshoot problems and report issues
• Must work well in a team environment

Physical Requirements:

• Use of hands and fingers to perform job function
• Ability to stoop kneel bend and climb minimal only as needed.
• Ability to lift up to 42lbs
• Plant facility runs 5 days a week consistently scheduled 6:30am to 5pm Monday to Friday excluding designated holidays or prearranged shut down.
• Line production is constant flow.
• Ability to be on feet consistently 8 hours up to a 10 hours per scheduled shift
• Walking during this standing time in work cell continuous rotation based on area assigned.
• Repetitive turning & twisting during production based on area assigned.
• Reaching above shoulders hand and wrist repetitive simple grasping to pick up drum flip drum for stacking and unloading as needed when assigned this area.
• Use of hands and fingers to perform job function with hand tools as needed up to full scheduled shift.
• The work environment is inside however not temperature controlled. Exposed to both heat and cold depending on the daily weather conditions outside and station working at.
• The ability to wear all required personal protective equipment for the position they are assigned to each day. This equipment can include some or all: hard hat ear plugs safety glasses face shield steel toed boots cut resistant gloves cut resistant sleeves apron and/or Tyvek hazmat suit.
