Position Summary:
Mckessons Sr. Cloud Platform Specialist design build configure test deploymaintain and support McKessons cloud services platforms and solutions. This is a hands-on technically deep individual-contributor role that works directly in the Azure portal applies a code- and automation-first approach and uses AI and automation to improve reliability andeliminatemanual addition to the engineering foundation this role serves as a connective layer for the Cloud Platform organization-consolidating technical information across engineering operations architecture and FinOps into clear decision-ready reporting and ensuring initiatives remain governed compliant and audit-ready in a regulated healthcare environment.
Acts as a key contributor in a complex business-critical environment; applies broad knowledge and strategic use of engineering concepts and practices to assignments of high complexity including problems that may be undefined with many unknowns.
Works with a high degree of autonomy and minimal direction; exercises significant latitude in determiningobjectivesandanticipatesand redirects efforts as conditions change.
Develops resolutions to complex problems that require the frequent use of creativity using judgment within broadly defined policies and practices.
May serve as a subject matter expert; acts as a resource for less-experienced colleagues and may direct the work of others without formal management responsibility.
Works across multiple cross-functional initiatives that may havesystem-wide impact and integrate across the enterprise.
Core Responsibilities
Design Build & Automate Solutions
Works hands-on in the Azure portal and across cloud platform services to design configure build andoperatethe environment directly.
Applies a code- and automation-first approach using infrastructure-as-code scripting and CI/CD to build repeatable reliable and secure solutions (e.g. Terraform Bicep/ARM PowerShell Python).
Designs and implements AI- and automation-enabled capabilities (e.g. AIOps intelligent workflows) that reduce manual effort and improve quality.
Ensures adherence to enterprise policies principles cyber security protocols and guardrails including code documentation and source-control versioning.
Evaluate & Contextualize Requirements
Translates business and technical requirements into technical specifications user stories and solution designs anddeterminestheir impact on existing architecture and processes.
Consolidatesand contextualizes requirements across multiple systems platforms and business domains ensuring alignment with technical security and compliance standards.
Communicates technical implications constraints and dependencies clearly to both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
Ensure Alignment with Governance & Compliance
Establishes andmaintainsgovernance controls and traceability for platform initiatives so that documentation decisions and approvals are complete and auditable.
Supports compliance and audit readiness by tracking controls evidence access and policy adherence across the cloud platform environment.
Ensures technical standards runbooks and automation are current consistent and applied across the organization.
Monitor Tune & Report Performance
Analyzes logs and metricsmonitorsperformance andidentifiesopportunities for optimization reliability and cost efficiency.
Consolidatesinformation across engineering operations architecture and FinOps into executive-ready reporting dashboards anda single sourceof truth.
Applies AI-driven observability and analytics to detect anomalies forecast capacity and drive continuous improvement.
Participate in Planning & Be an Effective Team Player
Acts asa central pointof coordination that keeps cross-functional platform teams aligned on priorities commitments dependencies and timelines.
Contributes to short- and long-term planning with service leaders and delivery managers providing input on options risk and cost/benefit trade-offs.
Facilitates technical working sessions and reviews capturing decisions risks and action items and driving them to closure.
Continuously Learn & Develop
Stays current on cloud automation and AI trends and adopts new tools and practices to advance the platform organization.

Minimum Education & Experience
Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Systems Engineering or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Typically7 years of relevant professional experience with direct hands-on responsibility for building and operating cloud environments.
Required Technical Skills
Hands-onproficiencynavigating and administering the Azure portal (and/or AWS) including core services operations and cost/consumption concepts.
Code- and automation-first mindset with proven experience in infrastructure-as-code scripting and automation (e.g. Terraform Bicep/ARM PowerShell Python).
Practical experience applying AI and automation (e.g. AIOps intelligent automation or ML-enabled tooling) to operational or engineering problems.
Experience with governance controls compliance or audit processes in a regulated environment.
Demonstrated ability toconsolidateinformation from multiple technical sources into clear reporting for leadership.
Proficiencywith reporting and collaboration tools such as Power BI Excel SharePoint/Confluence and Azure DevOps or Jira.
Comfortable creating clear presentations and technical diagrams (e.g. PowerPoint Visio or similar) to communicate concepts and workingproficiency not necessarily expert level.
Excellent written and verbal communication with the ability to translate technicaldetailfor business audiences.
Preferred (Nice-to-Have)
Experience building CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment workflows.
Experience supporting FinOps cloud cost management or capacity/consumption reporting.
Familiarity with SRE or ITIL operating models and incident change and problem management.
Exposure tocompliance frameworks such as SOX HITRUST SOC 2 or HIPAA in healthcare or regulated industries.
Certifications such as Microsoft Azure Administrator/Solutions Architect AWS or ITIL.
