Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostic ultrasound examinations on patients adhering to strict safety protocols and medical guidelines.
- Capture store and archive high-resolution images and video clips for review by radiologists and referring physicians.
- Collaborate closely with medical professionals to determine the specific imaging requirements based on patient history and clinical needs.
- Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process answering questions and ensuring their comfort and safety during the exam.
- Maintain and calibrate ultrasound equipment to ensure optimal performance and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Document all examination findings and patient data accurately within the electronic health record system.
- Identify and report any abnormal findings or technical difficulties to the supervising medical staff immediately.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 to 3 years of professional experience as a Sonographer in a clinical or hospital setting.
- Valid certification and licensure as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or equivalent credential from a recognized board.
- Proficiency in operating various ultrasound machines and understanding of anatomical structures and pathologies.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce precise diagnostic images under time constraints.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients families and healthcare providers.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced medical environment while maintaining a high standard of patient care.
- Knowledge of infection control practices and adherence to all relevant healthcare regulations and safety standards.
